2015 Cambria Pommard Clone 4 Pinot Noir $19.99 Buy 6 and it is $17.99. Buy 12 and it is $14.99 a bottle! Today’s special is a single clone Pinot Noir from the Santa Maria Valley in southern California. All yummy old vine estate fruit here with the vineyard being established in 1970, producing a full bodied and expressive wine. Sage, brown spice and dark fruit aromatics turn into pie cherry and raspberry on the front of the tongue. Plush texture on the mid palate leads to a darker blue fruit finish. Has the stuffing to stand up to your usual suspects, but don’t be afraid to pair with hearty fare or it put in your coffee cup during your zoom meetings. Wine is in stock. If you cannot make it into the store. Please call us at 217 344 7979 or email toddswines@gmail.com to reserve your wine. On Sale! 2018 Archery Summit Dundee Hills Pinot Noir $49.99 on sale for $39.99 "This cuvée is the first to be released from each new vintage, and the most widely available. The 2018 marks the debut (from harvest to bottling) of winemaker Ian Burch, and it’s a promising one. Full bodied and open, this mixes ripe red and purple fruits, especially plums and cherries, with a touch of lightly minty chocolate. Delicious and ready for near-term enjoyment" 91 points, Wine Enthusiast What’s in our glass……. 2108 Pierre Gelin Cote d Or Bourgogne Rouge $29.99 This Cote d’ Or bottling is comprised of organically grown fruit from Gevrey Chambertin and Fixin. The estate uses native yeasts, neutral oak, and allegedly de-stems the bunches (I say allegedly because of the finish, but I’ll get to that in a sec.) Opens with aromas of dried thyme, red fruit and wood spice. Palate is dense and masculine with black cherry and leather notes. Air smooths out the edges, giving way to a creamy vanilla note. Now the finish is where the tannins really shine, so if this is all de-stemmed it sure doesn't taste it as the structure comes through long and lingering with a dusty earth note. I really like this wine, but you probably have guessed that by now. 2017 Laurent Cognard Chateau de Buxy Bourgogne Blanc $27.99 Delicious Chardonnay from the Macon that opens with wet stone, apricot and a fistful of freshly picked basil. Hi-toned with nectarine, citrus, limestone and streak of saline. Mouth-watering. 2016 Dopff & Irion Pinot Blanc $14.99 Orchard fruit aromas are tied into a nutty note on the back of the nose. Citrus and spice on the palate finish nice and clean. 2016 Dopff & Irion Gewurtztraminer $19.99 Opens with tropical fruit, spice and a floral background. Palate is off dry with good acidity and length. Great pair with spicy food and turkey. 2018 Golden Pinot Noir $14.99 Easy drinking Pinot that has loads of red fruit with a smooth finish of toasted oak. 2019 El Coto Rioja Blanco $11.99 Hi-toned mix of Viura, Verdejo and Sauv Blanc. Crisp and citrusy with a low a.b.v. of 12.5%. Perfect for day drinking! Stay well, Todd and Roisin
Sunny Southern Italian Six Normally $119 -ish Buy the 6 for $110 Double down for an extra 10% off 2 each of the following: 2018 Mastroberadino Radici Fiano di Avellino $19.99 Radici means roots in Italian, so this pays homage to Fiano’s history which stretches back to ancient Rome. Opens with notes of lemon peel and toasted pine nuts. Palate is a creamy mouthful of citrus with an orchard fruit background. Lively acidity. 2018 Mastroberadino Nova Serra Greco di Tufo $19.99 Greco is aptly named as the grape is thought to be of Greek origin, while the name Tufo comes from ‘tuff,’ referring to the soft volcanic rock soil of the town. Apricot and wet stone aromatics lead to a lively mix of peach and pear on the palate. Medium bodied with an orange pith finish framed by stony minerality. 2017 Mastroberadino Neroameta $19.99 This is the second vintage I have had of this wine, and I am a big fan of Aglianico no matter if it vinified red or white! Grapes are pressed and the skins are removed with no contact, leaving behind white juice. Strawberry, white cherry and melon on the nose lead to a hearty mouthful of white peach and red berries. Works well with fish, vegetables and pork dishes. Stay well, Todd and Roisin
The perfectly roasted chicken is a Quixotic quest of mine. Crisp, crackling skin with a juicy interior. My favorite pair with said bird? Cru Beaujolais! 2018 Domaine Blain Souer et Frère Brouilly $24.99 Buy 6 and it is $22.99 Buy 12 and it is $19.99 a bottle Cru Beaujolais/Gamay Noir never seems to get its due. While it might be catnip to Somms everywhere, most folks pass it by on the shelf. This is sad and unfortunate, because the wines are bloody delicious, food friendly, and pair extremely well with fowl. The Blain Brouilly comes from 50+ year old vines on a granitic hilltop in the southern part of Burgundy. Hand harvested, native yeast fermentation and neutral oak keep the fruit upfront and center. Opens with pleasing aromas of sappy cherry, fresh picked berries and a field of violets. Texture is just smooth and lovely, presenting notes of ripe red fruits and spice cake that lead to a smokey mineral-tinged finish. P.S. It cuts through chicken fat like a laser beam. Stay well, Todd and Roisin

Tannins are present but well managed. 2017 Ring Bolt Cabernet $17.99 From Ringbolt Bay on the Southern tip of the Margaret River region in Australia, named after a ship wrecked there in the 1800s. Has all the expected aromas of dark fruit, cassis and a little tobacco, then brightens on the palate into red fruit flanked by dark chocolate, spice and integrated structure. Classic and well-made for any Cabernet fan. 2018 Château Haut Blanville Cabernet Sauvignon Réserve $17.99 Languedoc Cab that opens with classic aromas of mint and cassis. Palate has good weight and texture with flavors of currant and raspberry. Really appealing texture. 2017 Aerena Cabernet Sauvignon $17.99 High elevation fruit from the Red Hills of Lake county just next to Napa. Red and black fruit mingle on the nose along with wood spice notes. Palate is cassis and plum along with dark chocolate. Tobacco and smoke appear on a structured finish. 2017 Yalumba Sanctum Coonwarra Cabernet Sauvignon $17.99 If you are looking for a big and bold Cab for a hearty dish, I would highly recommend this wine from the terra rosso soils of the Menzies vineyard in Coonwarra. Opens with aromatics of eucalyptus, plum and black currant. Palate has a nice acidic lift to keep the cassis and blueberry notes rolling towards an integrated tannic finish. Stay well, Todd and Roisin

Their goal is to let the fruit shine and, well, kudos to them because this wine is a winner. Opens with notes of sage, cherry and clove. The palate is an ethereal mix of cherry, tart raspberry and white pepper. Finish is savory, lingering and bloody delicious! 2019 Division Un Pinot Noir $27.99 A six-vineyard blend of Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley - two vineyards in Eola Amity Hills, one in Yamhill Carlton, one in Van Duzer and one in Ribbon Ridge - making for a seamless example of the Willamette Valley style. Opens with a bouquet of cherries, from bing to sour red, along with a spiced background of clove and star anise. Fruit expands on the palate and red cherry comes to the forefront, with a hint of dark cocoa and more spice in the background buttressed by a well-integrated tannic backbone. 2016 Henri Latour St. Romain “Le Jarron” $29.99 Steal of a white Burgundy from a vineyard in the Cote de Beaune with excellent sun exposure. Super quaffable and chock full of red fruits with violet notes. 2013 Remelluri Reserva Rioja $39.99 “The flagship red 2013 Reserva, the wine most people call simply Remelluri, was cropped from a cool year, and it has a little less alcohol and higher acidity than the previous harvest. It had an élevage of 20 months in oak barriques. It has an herbal twist reflecting the conditions of the year, and it is developed and polished. It has the grippy, Nebbiolo-like tannins that are a signature of the Remelluri wines, a little more evident in a year like 2013. A Remelluri for food. 214,321 bottled produced. It was bottled in April 2016" 93 points, Wine Advocate Everything Pinot Six Normally $134ish. Buy the 6 and it is $120 Double down for an additional 10% off! Well, if the weather people are right, today is going to be a cold mess of rain and snow. Fantastic, I know. But, here is a little Spanish sunshine to brighten the day. 2018 LLenca Plana $17.99 Buy 6 and it is $15.99. Buy 12 and it is $13.99 a bottle LLenca Plana, or “flat rock” in English, is a sustainably farmed blend of 70% Carineña and 30% Garnacha - more commonly known as Carignane and Grenache in the Rhone valley in France. The wine hails from the sunny climes of Montsant in northeastern Spain and is all estate fruit from vineyards planted in the early nineties. Stone and a distinct note of fresh ground coffee on the nose leads to aromas of dark fruit. That dark fruit repeats on the palate, along with a pleasing mineral note that keeps the exuberant fruit in check. Bright, happy and a great pair with soul warming food.
