While performing our evaluation of this oil painting we noted areas with previous restoration work. After further investigation we found patches on the back of the painting. This prompted us to view the piece under UV light. Extensive inpainting was revealed! Inpainting shows up darker under the UV light.

We recently redesigned two shadowboxes that were filled with family memorabilia! Each element was cleaned and polished to make everything sparkle again! ✨🥄
This painting sat in water after a pipe burst in a home. A clear waterline can be seen running horizontally through the center. We essentially had to perform two separate treatments on this piece. The varnish was removed on the top half and we conditioned the lower half to treat blanching.
A customer came to us looking to restore this portrait of her recently deceased grandmother. This layered piece is a photograph printed on paper, mounted to canvas, with airbrushed pigment and hand-painted elements. It was made in Mexico c. late 1950s-early 1960s. We decided that digital treatment was the best option for this particular piece!

A Weird Monolith Is Found in the Utah Desert
There’s no business like snow business! Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the snow today!
Encaustic paintings are created by melting beeswax in which colored pigments can be added. Traditionally the hot wax is applied to wood. However, the media can be used on a variety of materials. In this encaustic painting the colored wax was applied on top of a photograph. Somehow the wax in the upper quadrant reheated and began to flow creating a distracting texture and sheen.☀️We were able to restore the painting back to its original appearance.
