The College Board announced today that they are cancelling the June 6th test because of the corona virus. From their website, "To keep students safe, and in alignment with public health guidance and school closures across 192 countries, we will not be able to administer the SAT or SAT Subject Tests on June 6, 2020."
They are adding an additional test for 2020, in September, to supplement the already scheduled tests in August, October, November and December.
Again, from the College Board, "If it’s safe from a public health standpoint, we’ll provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5."
Future plans do include a digital SAT for in-home testing. However, that is only a fall-back option, should schools not be able to reopen this fall.
David Coleman, the president of the College Board, which administers the SAT, said last week that he was preparing for “an at-home style solution” for testing if the national shutdowns continue, and the organization plans to make an announcement on Wednesday about the future of the SAT.
This should be very interesting. I'll try and update, as soon as I see or hear anything.
