Foundation distress of residential properties observed during a visible Level A of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers Approved Guidelines for Professional Engineers and Building Code Officials Regarding the Design and Inspection Procedures for Residential Foundations (09/11/98).
The Level A Report includes first impression conclusions and/or recommendations, and will not imply that any further of evaluation has been preformed. The following define the referenced Scope of Work for the , to be produced "Level A Report."
1. Interview the owner and/or client to identify known soil and foundation condition related history of the residence. 2. Make physical "walk through" of the residence and immediately adjacent property. "Walk-through"observations will be documented in both written and photographic format.
3. Documentation will include only visually observable residence condition and damage apparently attributable to foundation movement. The engineer is responsible to make decisions on what damage is attributable to foundation movement.
4. Besides referenced documentation of the report the report will suggest available report options, should they be required, based on first impressions of condition of the building foundation.
Additional work, as authorized by the Owner and or Client could include the following services:
1. Residence floor elevation survey with created topographic plan of the residence to identify building movement pattern, as of the the date of the survey.
2.Exterior of the residence survey to identify possible effect on the residence foundation by other elements such as property location, property drainage pattern(s), trees, and building orientation.
3. Construction management of authorized foundation repair by owner selected contractor.
