A BIG Congratulations to Shawn Guin! Shawn is our Staff Highlight of the Day AND our September Employee of the Month!! Shawn has been with ACMC for 4 years in our IT Department. His co-workers say he is very friendly and personable when talking with “our customers”. His department is small, but as team they accomplish what a four man team would sweat over; and without him, it would be impossible. "ACMC is a great place to work! Bradley’s co-workers say he is an extremely hard worker and is always eager to help problem solve. He is very professional, works quickly and meticulously to get the job done! Our ACMC Staff Highlight of the Day is Abby McDonald! Abby is a RN on our MedSurg floor and has been with ACMC for 1 ½ years. Abby is a wonderful addition to our nursing team. She cares deeply about what she does and fosters a team environment. She always handles her duties calmly and professionally. It is an honor to have her as part of our team and we hope she continues to grow with ACMC. When Abby joined ACMC, she joined other nurse family members – Debby Fields, Crystal Terrell, Jesse Pack and Jeremy McDaniel. Abby says, “I love working at ACMC, because I love how everyone helps each other. We really are a family. My co-workers have become some of my best friends!” When Abby isn’t caring for our patients, she enjoys spending time with family and her son, Jonas. Our ACMC Staff Highlight of the Day is Cathy Smith, Occupational Therapist! Cathy has been an occupational therapist for 32 years, with 21 of those years spent at ACMC! Her co-workers say she always treats her patients like family, never meets a stranger, works with a smile, and projects the “I can help you attitude”. "I enjoy the staff that I work with in the therapy department and in the hospital. I enjoy working with the people of Crossett and knowing my patients outside of the hospital," says Smith. Cathy spends her free time exploring new places with friends, Kim and Michelle, and weekly Bible classes through the Faith Bible Institute. Thank you for everything you do, Cathy! We appreciate you!!
Congratulations to our September Nurse of the Month, Dakota “Cody” Bays! Cody has been with ACMC for over a year. He is an RN and currently works in our CCU unit, but there are times you may see him in the ER. Cody’s co-workers say is very kind to everyone - staff and patients. Our ACMC Staff Highlight of the Day is Marcy Young! Marcy has worked in our Financial Counseling/Admissions Department for 18 years! Marcy is a team player, who is always willing to go the extra mile to help our patients and fellow coworkers. You will always find Marcy with a smile on her face. "I love my job, because I love meeting new people and, in my position, I am able to see many new faces each day. Also, my coworkers are like a family to me,” says Marcy. In Marcy’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her three dachshunds that keep her entertained! She also loves to bake and decorate cakes. Our ACMC Staff Highlight of the Day is Samantha Webb! Samantha began her career with ACMC in 2012 as an RN. She is a loyal and dedicated member of the ACMC - OR family. Samantha is always very friendly and is willing to help out where needed. “ACMC feels like home! I truly enjoy coming to work every day. Not only do we have a close work family, we also develop great relationships with our patients from the community. I can’t imagine working anywhere other than ACMC,” says Samantha. When Samantha isn’t in the OR, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the lake, and chasing her 4 and 6 - year old children around. Today we celebrated World Stroke Day! We celebrated by bringing awareness to the signs and symptoms of a stroke and wearing red! At each entrance and screening table we distributed swag with educational information on it. I challenge you to educate someone the BEFAST so they recognize a stroke is an emergency and you need to call 911. Our ACMC Staff Highlight of the Day is Hope Gill! Hope has been with ACMC in the Hamburg Health Clinic for 7 years tomorrow! Hope began her career at ACMC in the Engineering Department several years ago as a volunteer from UAM-CTC while she was taking the medical technology/coding class. When she completed the course, she came back to the Hamburg Clinic as a physician office representative and excelled in that position. When a biller position became available in the clinic, Hope moved into billing and has done a fantastic job. She is very detail oriented and handles posting payments and the month-end closing. She is definitely an asset to the clinic! "I love working at ACMC, because everyone truly cares about our patients and what is best for them. I love my clinic family! They have become more than just co-workers to me, they are my family! I couldn’t imagine working with a better group of women,” says Hope. Outside of work, Hope enjoys spending time with her family, being involved in her kids sports and activities, hiking, hunting, and anything outdoors. Happy Anniversary, Hope! As you know, Ashley County has seen a recent spike in COVID-19 cases. For your safety, ACMC's outpatient registration process has changed. When you arrive to the hospital for outpatient services, please call 870-364-1240 or 870-364-0506 to let us know you are here. A representative will process your registration over the phone and give you further instructions. Remember: NO visitors are allowed, unless the patient is a minor or the patient lacks the capacity to communicate effectively with medical personnel. Congratulations to ACMC's 2021 New Year Baby, Sema’j Jamal Smith!! Sema’j arrived on January 6, 2021 at 11:03 PM, weighing 7 lbs. 8.4 oz. and 19 ¾ inches long. He is welcomed by mom, Chyna Smith. Dr. Kara Worley delivered this precious baby boy, but Dr. Ira Murphy was Ms. Smith’s physician throughout her pregnancy. Chyna was presented a basket of baby essentials from ACMC! Congratulations on your bundle of joy!

Congratulations to our January Star Employee and Nurse of the Month! Our Star Employee is Devon Albritton! Devon has been with ACMC for 2 years, working as a Med Tech in the Lab. Devon is always willing to pitch in and help and will cover any shift needed. She also has taken on added responsibilities within the department. Devon truly cares about her patients and co-workers. She is a real team player, who constantly has a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Our Star Nurse is Kim Barnes! Kim has been with ACMC for 10 years. She is an LPN at the Ashley Family Clinic located on Ray Lochala Road. Kim’s co-workers say she is very sweet and always jumps at the chance to help you, as an employee or a patient. Lisa’s co-workers say she goes above and beyond her duties as a biller. She is always willing to step up and help out with anything. Lisa strives to do her very best to make sure all billing is processed correctly. Lisa is kind with patients and employees and respectful of others. Our Star Nurse is Denia Keen! Denia is a Certified Nursing Assistant and has been with ACMC for 2 years. Since joining our team, she has worked in Generations, our MedSurg floor, worked as a screener at our entrances, and is now working in CCU.
