2020 has certainly had it's ups and downs, but it's stories like Amanda's that remind me to take a moment, slow down, and focus on the good. To focus on God! There really is a whole world filled with beauty and sometimes we get so busy we forget to stop and appreciate all that we have.

Today let us celebrate Amanda! Yesterday she got amazing news that she has another stable MRI and can stop taking her chemo.
Her next MRI is in two months, but her amazing oncologist said she can take a break and they will see how that scan looks!

Erin's story is one worth sharing. She's a surrogate for a family in New York, who have been praying for child for such a long time. Her journey to get to this point has had many bumps in the road along the way, but she's been believing for this and trusting God. I'm so grateful to have been able to capture Erin in all her beauty. Pregnancy really does show a woman's strength unlike anything else.

What do you remember learning about beauty from a young age? What impacted you the most that you’ve carried with you into adulthood (positive or negative)?

I learned from a young age that your beauty shines out from the inside. As far as physical beauty, I have never thought that I was pretty. Growing up I couldn’t always dress like most of the other girls in school. It caused me to have a bad self image of myself and I carried that for years. This month I turn 61 and a couple of years ago I started dating a man that thinks I’m beautiful. I have never had anyone to tell me I’m beautiful every day. When we are around friends or family, he always says, don’t you think she’s beautiful!

Katie's journey to self love and views on beauty are exactly why I knew she had to be selected!
Katie said, "I feel that beauty is undefinable. It cannot be put in a box, it doesn't have a recipe. Beauty shouldn't just be someone pleasing to the eye, but instead a feeling you get from being around them. Kindness and empathy are far more important than a pretty face."
