Thanks to our amazing staff our first drive up flu shot day was a great success. So thankful for the lucky weather!
Dining at an establishment is the one place where you can be guaranteed most people are taking off their masks. There is a risk outdoors as well as indoors, indoors definitely being greater, whenever you eat around people you don't live with. This is one of the MOST dangerous activities and not something you should be doing at all if you are high risk. https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/88543 MEDPAGETODAY.COM CDC: Dining Out Tied to Coronavirus Infection

Please remember this when letting your guard down.
We are seeing a rise in COVID positive elderly patients. We are asking everyone to please protect their elderly family members. This demographic is still very vulnerable to have severe illness and death from this virus. Large family gathering and eating with those that you do not live with is still not recommended. Please remember that this pandemic has infection numbers that are currently surging. Please wear your mask, social distance and do not gather. We need your help to decrease the demand on our hospitals so there is enough availability to help everyone with every medical need.
Attention all our senior patients. Independence Blue Cross is hosting a FREE, virtual culinary series for seniors. This three-part series features chefs and other icons of the Philadelphia food industry, including Top Chef contestant Sylva Senat, celebrity Chef Jennifer Carroll, Iron Chef Jose Garces, Philadelphia Inquirer’s food writer Michael Klein, and Producer, Author, and TV host Hope Cohen. Dr. Loehrig Vaccine update. 2 days post Moderna #2. Injection site only tender if I touch it. No other symptoms today. I was ready for bed alittle earlier than usual last night but otherwise feeling well. Some people will have flu like symptoms after the vaccine - usually number 2 more than number 1 but those symptoms are temporary. #thisisourshot
Dr. Loehrig Vaccine #2 update. Almost 24 hrs and I am feeling good. Yesterday I had a sore arm that started sooner than the first shot. I also experienced some fatigue and achiness that lasted about 4 hrs. Nothing that required any medication. This morning woke up feeling back to my normal self with just a slight sore arm. Will keep posting as we know the immune system is still working and I may experience more immune effects in the next several days.
Dr. Loehrig received her second Moderna vaccine today. Awaiting a welcomed rebust immune response. Will keep you posted.
The PA department of health has released its adjusted vaccine rollout phases today. Please review below. Phase 1B is next and coming soon. Please make sure your email is up to date as we will be surveying patients via email for those interested in receiving the vaccine as we receive more information from the state/city.
Please avoid social gatherings. We are seeing the majority of our patients infected at "small gatherings with friends." We are in the worst surge of the worst pandemic in 100 years, please do not gather, do not eat with those you do not live with, mask whenever you leave your home, and stay home with ANY AND ALL signs of sickness. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/01/07/covid-coronavirus-updates/ WASHINGTONPOST.COM U.S. records its deadliest day of the pandemic while eyes are fixed on mob storming Capitol
