About

At Athens Oral Surgery Center, we are dedicated to providing excellence in oral surgical care. Every decision we make and each interaction we have is based upon the principles of integrity and respect. We strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology and seek to incorporate innovative techniques into our procedures. We believe that every patient should receive personalized care by a knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding staff.

Athens Oral Surgery Center was founded in September of 2011 when Dr. Tomlinson took over the practice of much beloved oral surgeon, Dr. Stephen Fennell. Dr. Tomlinson immediately began redeveloping the practice to reflect his passions and goals. Since adopting new leadership, Athens Oral Surgery Center has seen a tremendous growth in the number of patients coming in for care as more and more patients recommend the practice to family and friends.

Dr. Tomlinson’s unique background and training set him apart as an oral surgeon in Athens and northeast Georgia. Not only is Dr. Tomlinson a supremely qualified Dentist, graduating at the top of his class from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, he is also a certified Medical Doctor graduating from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Tomlinson’s medical degree truly sets him apart from other oral surgeons in the state of Georgia, as the majority do not hold dual degrees in medicine and dentistry.

Youthfulness, energy, and accessibility are a few characteristics that patients appreciate about Athens Oral Surgery Center. Dr. Tomlinson firmly believes that he should be accessible to his patients and spends a considerable amount of face to face time with them during their appointments. His youthfulness and energy create a warm and inviting atmosphere that is both soothing and refreshing in a medical office setting.

In addition to providing superior oral surgical care, Athens Oral Surgery Center is keenly focused on building lasting relationships within the community. Dr. Tomlinson supports the Athens Regional Foundation, the Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary, and he also also provides his services for patients with facial trauma at Athens Regional Medical Center. Athens Oral Surgery Center is a huge supporter of the University of Georgia sports teams and strives to be a vital part of the University of Georgia community.
