Do you find yourself looking for a review whether on a Product, Restuarant, Physician or Hotel? PT and OT are no different. Most new patients that call us state they read our reviews for both Physical and Occupational Therapy. You could be the deciding factor for obtaining a new patient. Hit the like button, click on reviews and type away. From all Staff at Atlantic Physical Therapy we thank you for taking the time to do this.
Patients always put limits on their Physical and Occupational Therapy, at Atlantic Physical Therapy there are no limits, there may be plateaus but Bruce Lee always reminds us to go "beyond them." If you have been dealing with an ache or pain and think we can help, give us a call 888-208-3828.

We would like to share with you cyclisits some simple stretches to help you out with your 100 or 63 mile bicycle ride. 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨: Standing with your feet pointed straight ahead, step forward with your right leg and bend your knee, keeping your left foot firmly planted on the ground behind you. Keep your upper-body erect and drop your hips forward until you feel the stretch in your calf, hold 15 -30 seconds and switch sides. 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙨: Standing reach back with your right hand and grab your right foot at the top of the ankle, and pull up towards your butt. hold and again switch sides. 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Standing bend over at the waist and let your arms dangle toward the ground, letting the knees bend slightly outward. Remember for this stretch to focus on your breathing to help you push towards the ground. 𝙉𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨: Whilte standing gently roll your head in a circle several times, then rotate directions. Shrug your shoulders upwards and hold for five seconds. This stretch can be repeated several times. Today was Sharon’s last day in Physical Therapy at our Ocean Pines location. She did not want to do a video testimonial but I think her card and gifts speak for themselves. 🆃🅸🅳🅱🅸🆃 🆃🆄🅴🆂🅳🅰🆈 This is for all the Golfers we treat throughout our company. After a thorough evaluation of the patient we find the most common injury is lower back pain. Several factors work together to improve not only pain and function but overall golfers performance. 1. Warm Up before Playing 2. Practice your Swing 3. Learn the Bio Mechanics of your Back 4. Properly Carrying your Bag If you would like more information about this type of Physical Therapy program give us a call at 888-208-3828
The Importance of a Warm-Up All of our patients at their visit warm up. Some do cardio on the bike or treadmill or even with a moist hot pack applied to the affected area. A proper warm up will help improve your mobility in areas that may be tight or restricted so you are able to move through the full motion you need to complete during your OT or PT visit. If you are exercising at home, you want to warm up any muscle that might feel tight or sore from inactivity or your workout the day before. Some beneficial warm ups include walking lunges, twisting side to side at the waist, high knee's, wrist stretches and arm circles.

Let's Talk About Bones Moving your body and being active is key to bone health. Weight bearing activities is going to have the biggest impact on building and supporting bone mass growth and repair. For instance walking, running, aerobics and even yoga can build strong bones and slow bone loss. At Atlantic Physical Therapy we are known to help you get started with a program to help in protecting your bones. After all you do have 206 of them! So, this Halloween season as you see skeletons around town, remember to take care of yours by participating in some physical activity, adding nutrients that boost bone health or telling your doctor or assistant you would like to try some Physical or Occupational Therapy.
As we celebrate National Pumpkin Day let us not forget to practice safety when carving our pumpkins. Our Occupational Therapist Sally Hawkins, OTR/L, CLT, CHT likes to remind everyone to use the following tips when carving: #1. Keep your hands and handles dry to avoid slips and stabs. #2. Light it up, by lighting the area you are working in #3. If you use a knife, use a dull blade for safety. #4. Use a specially designed pumpkin carving kit. #5. Pumpkin carving should be an adults-only activity #6. Utilizing other alternatives with your pumpkin, paint, glue or decoupage #safetyfirst #certifiedhandtherapist #outpatientoccupationaltherapy #carvingpumpkins
Today we celebrate National Pumpkin Day. We’re in a frenzy of pumpkin obsession. We cannot wait for the big November holiday for pumpkin pie. As Americans we need pumpkin everything! Bars, cookies, coffee, cheesecake, pasta and oatmeal. And events such as Pumpkin Chunkin, Pumpkin patches, festivals, bake-offs and television specials. Let’s not forget jack-o-lantern carving, too! This fruit grabs American’s attention. The word pumpkin originates from the word pepon, which means “large melon” in Greek.
Are you aware that a common condition associated with Diabetes is Neuropathy? Tell your Doctor you would like to try PT or OT and give us a call at 888-208-3828 to schedule your initial evaluation.
