This is me but it’s worth it.
We may have babies soon. These "polar parrots" are guarding their eggs. Obviously not a great accomplishment with a hybrid fish which is half parrotfish and half convict. We sometimes joke that convicts will spawn in the bag on the way home. So here we have the easiest egg layer ever, crossed with another fish that is also easilly spawned. The "polar parrot" is actually really sharp looking! The interesting thing is the incredible blue colors we are seeing in the parents. Convicts are often under rated because they are so easy to breed. That said a pair of convicts can hold its own next to almost any fish, when it is showing off it's breeding colors.. I hope you can stop in soon while these two are still guarding their eggs. It is nature at her finest! Bill

The bids are in! Thank you to everyone who made an offer on Kim and Andy's 125 Gallon set! The highest offer was from John Coffin from Indianapolis, at $500. John plans to pick up the set tomorrow and we wish him many years of aquatic excitement with it. The next closest bid was $450, and others for a little less. We know The Traucin family appreciates your offers (see story from October 22nd). Thanks to the Atlantis crew for helping to drain and move it and to everyone for your kind words of encouragement. Bill

I was just heading out on a service call 2:45 pm Dec 24 th. This note was on my windshield. I opened my hood and a little 3 or 4 month old tiger striped cat was sitting on the air cleaner . It went flying across 13th street before I could grab it, but many "thanks" to this kind soul who took the time to write a nice Christmas note! Bill

So is Atlantis open today? Wow the roads just became half way drivable and now this! Atlantis will try to open at 2 today (Thursday). If you want to be sure, call til you reach staff and we will let you know if we are closing early. We should have most supplies to keep your fish and reptiles safe , warm and fed. We are low on battery backup air pumps and hoping to restock by Wednesday. Please call til you reach a live person and we will be happy to help. Bill
Could this be the line of cars coming to Atlantis today, to get supplies for their fish and critters? Just in case we are finally going to be open. We should be open from 2 til at least 5 today ( maybe longer) We do have crickets, mealworms , some goldfish and most of the other essentials. We are low on frozen bloodworms but most of the other items are ok.It also sounds like we will have more tomorrow. Please be safe, the Terre Haute (and other) Street Departments have done an amazing job of clearing the main roads. The side roads are still risky so take a shovel and a friend and we hope to see you today! -Bill

If anyone can help please contact Chassey Lingafelter. Chassey Lingafelter March 21 at 7:37 PM · I have a friend who's chameleon was stolen from her home, cage and all, in Terre Haute, IN and given away in the parking lot outside the Atlantis Aquatic Gardens pet store on north 13th street in the last week. He was given to a woman who was with her daughter, who said they owned a bullfrog already. If anyone knows who might have this chameleon please let me know because she is very attached to him and wants to try to get him back. His name is Rango, but I don't think that information was told to the woman he was given to. He had a pretty standard black mesh cage that is pictured below, along with two lamps, a humidifier, and a drip system. And yes, the cops have been contacted and a report has been filed about this whole thing, we are just trying to get Rango back because again, the person who stole him doesn't have him, he was given to a woman that we are trying to get in contact with. If y'all can share this or know anything please don't hesitate to contact me on this post or through messenger. Thank you!
