Today, we are featuring the talented Auctioneer, Mike Shumard. Spending his entire adult career in the nonprofit sector and ultimately rising to become the Executive Director for Cystic Fibrosis Orange County and then the Executive Director for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Orange County, Mike realized that his skill set and personality lent itself to connecting with donors from the stage. For the past eight years, Mike has been recognized as one of the top benefit auction specialists in Southern California. Rather than the high-pressure method of sales found in the commercial auctioneering sector, he has found his calling in the special appeal, or "Fund a Need." His natural talents and abilities make him the perfect benefit auctioneer specialist, and he has spent over a decade serving this sector, which makes him an ideal ambassador for your cause. Mike maintains an approach that forgoes the self and creates a central focus on the cause. His high energy, light-hearted demeanor, and charm make him one of the most endearing and personable auctioneers available in the nonprofit sector. Some events he's supported include the Disney Family Museum, the Children's Hospital of Orange County, the San Diego Policemen's Ball, and The Epilepsy Foundation to name a few. Mike is partnering with Zack Krone and California Coast Auctions, and we are happy to personally connect you with him for your next event. You can also contact him directly at http://www.mikeshumard.com/. #auctioneer #fundaneed #virtualevent #benefit #auctionspecialist #auctionfrogs

As a nonprofit professional, you likely depend heavily on donor funding to bankroll daily operations and mission-based program costs. These donors trust and support you, and decide to contribute significant portions of their hard-earned money to your cause. Yet they don’t want to be taken advantage of! In the wake of COVID-19 , organizations, businesses, and individuals everywhere are facing unprecedented economic challenges. That means now more than ever, donors can’t afford to have their money taken unfairly through a fraudulent scheme. Fundraising in a crisis can be difficult, but it’s not impossible. Here are four main ways you can protect yourself and your donors during this time. https://www.auctionfrogs.org/protecting-your-donors-4-tips-during-and-post-pandemic/ #nonprofit #donor #fundraising #cause #auctionfrogs #payments #security #donations AUCTIONFROGS.ORG Protecting your Donors: 4 Tips During and Post Pandemic – Auction Frogs

With the sudden changes affecting the fundraising landscape at the beginning of the year, many nonprofits were in a panic and losing hope. At Auction Frogs, our team spent countless hours supporting organizations as they adapted and repositioned their fundraising efforts. We helped them transition their events to virtual platforms using custom tools, technology, and over 20 years of experience in the industry. Supporting nonprofits is our passion, and we weren't about to let a pandemic slow us down. We are thrilled to partner with AmFund to expand the footprint of simplified fundraising and provide the technical engine their clients need for successful auctions. Employee Spotlight: While Kayla Fehringer has been working with Auction Frogs as a client since 2017, she started working with them as an Auction Engineer in March 2020 — just two weeks before the COVID-19 lockdown! In her role, Kayla manages the production aspect of all Virtual Events. Her favorite thing about working at AF is getting to meet people from all over the country and working with many different types of nonprofit organizations. She explains, “There are so many incredible organizations working hard to make the world a better place, which is so inspiring, especially during the tough times 2020 has brought us. I also love virtual events. It's a totally new way to look at fundraising, and it's so much fun!”
No Silence No Violence Sunday Funday Bingo NSNV is a non-profit organization committed to providing education, training, resources, and community development that will eliminate the stigma surrounding relationship abuse and sexual assault, while creating awareness, shifting perspectives, and creating change in the way we talk about domestic violence, as well as addressing the needs of those affected by this epidemic. Because of the support we've received from you and others who stand with us, we have been able to directly help thousands of women, children, and men break free from abusive environments, restore a sense of safety, and begin the journey toward healing.
Neuro Diverse Living Inaugural Fundraiser Time is running out on many of the 5.4 million autistic adults who live in their family home and have been largely supported by their aging parent caregivers. Without access to affordable housing in their community, or the support to live in their own home, adults with autism are at high risk of homelessness and/or displacement from their community and will likely be “placed in the next empty bed” of a group home or adult foster care that could be hundreds of miles away from their hometown. Your support of this event is crucial to help raise the funds needed to advance our mission of providing safe & secure smart-home enabled housing communities for adults with autism or other intellectual disabilities.
Learning Lab’s Virtual Lunch for Literacy This year marks Learning Lab’s 30th Anniversary and we are so happy to share this time with you, celebrating the generous community support that has kept Learning Lab going (and growing) since 1991! You won’t want to miss Pulitzer Prize-winning author Anthony Doerr interviewing his friend, actor and author, Jamie Lee Curtis, as part of the luncheon festivities. Your continued support of our students means the world to us.
"If I was going to talk to another nonprofit that was considering working with Auction Frogs and producing a Virtual Event, [I would say] that we had a very positive experience. I put a lot of trust in your staff to get our messaging right, and I think they did a really good job of executing that, and showing our ski club in a true and natural way that we work within our community. And the messaging was seamless that night .. and I think allowed donors who wanted to support us ... understand where we're moving and what we are hoping to do with their investment." - Jen with the Payette Ski Club https://youtu.be/yS1ceACfbHo #VirtualEvent #testimonial #auctionfrogs #fundraiser #onlineevent #nonprofitsupport YOUTUBE.COM Auction Frogs Virtual Event Testimonial
The Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest Virtual Event 2020 was a HOOT! Prior to the big event, they hosted a Happy Hour over Zoom, during which they introduced each chimp at the sanctuary and treated the "residents" to chimp-friendly mocktails. Between their fun pre-show, the virtual event, and their online auction, they raised $247,814 of their $150,000 goal! That's an excess of nearly $100k! We've found virtual events are a perfect fit for animal sanctuaries like this one. The Center for Great Apes in December had record-breaking viewer numbers! People love to tune in and virtually meet the sweet creatures they are supporting with their auction bids and donations. You can view The Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest's event recording here https://youtu.be/c5B77TaN6PM, and visit their online auction page at https://hoot2020.afrogs.org/#/index. They have wonderful ideas for auction items and ways to increase engagement with viewers. We look forward to continuing to support this wonderful organization and others like them for years to come!
Did you know we can host your event virtually anywhere? In October 2020, we worked with the College of Western Idaho Foundation to raise money for student scholarships at their annual Opening Doors event. We went live from their Diesel Technology Lab in Nampa and supported their team in raising over $72,000 in scholarship funds! For more information about onsite (but still virtual!) events, feel free to give our team a call at 208-321-5515 or email sales@auctionfrogs.org.
