Due to high winds and forecast heavy rain, I am cancelling tonight's (Monday, Nov 30) Light and Music show in Augusta at 132 State Street. If there is no or minimal damage, the show will begin again on Tuesday, December 1 at 5 pm. If it were snow we'd play through but the heavy rain is an issue. Thank you and stay safe.

It's funny but most of the pictures and videos of our decorated building I like seem to feature the blue lights rather than the other colors. K-Mart's not around anymore for the "blue light specials" so I guess I'm taking up the slack.

For the last 10 months I've been feeling like the guy in this old picture I took while on active duty doing a combined ASW exercise in Lisbon, Portugal.

Don't worry about the icy roads....
Since we had snow and sleet this morning I did not see our neighbors on the commute. They have made frequent appearances between 7 and 8 AM every morning when I only have my cell phone camera. When I have my serious 35mm camera they are nowhere to be seen. Apparently they are the rare "Murphy's Law Eagles" commonly heard with the distinctive cry "Oh Crap" from amateur photogs in the vicinity.
I went for a Covid-19 test. The nurse asked me if I had a loss of taste. I answered "No, I always dress this way." They called security. Never did get the vaccine.

Missing the opportunity to travel...
So sorting out old photos and came across this one from Lajes, in the Azores. Due to the injuries suffered by military guys in previous years running with the bulls we were told that if we ran with the bulls and were struck by the bull and survived we would be: 1) given the bill for the subsequent medical treatment and b) courtmartialed once we recovered. So I limited my activity to photography from the sidelines. The bulls did get mighty close to us on the small walls though.

Apparently everyone's patience is in short supply; people are getting snippy and even the animals are turning on each other.
So I miss a lot of restaurants that have closed forever during Covid and I usually like to dine in a place that offers beautiful views. But during this lockdown I am so desperate that I would even be thrilled to eat at this restaurant...
So I wonder if these cute creatures have begun to practice social distancing now? Or have they found an otter way to stay safe? Old pic from Cali when we could do that thing, what is it, oh, travel!

So around this time of year we seem to see more animals transiting through our yard. Often we see coyotes and foxes taking advantage of the nice weather and using the ice on the lakes to move around more freely. Saw this fox showing off his/her climbing skills which really impressed me.
Since I'm going through pix we've taken and they seem to be mostly travel or wildlife I have been posting a few of the fun ones. This tree is at the end of our neighbor's yard and attracts quite a few visitors but rarely in as big a group as these guys!
This put a big smile on my face!

Since we are limited in our travels I am wallowing in old travel memories. Here is a pic of me taking a "Hawk Walk" at Ashford Castle in Cong, Ireland. I arranged a couple nights stay since it is where "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne was filmed. The movie is a personal fave since it is both a "Chick Flick" and an "Action Movie". They play it every St Paddy's Day on the Classic Movie Stations. Highly Recommended!
So when I read or hear so many posts and news and commentary these days I think this is the look on my face.

Starting to see limited sections of open water. With the temps hitting 60 we should get to see more activity on the lakes and streams. So far mostly bald eagles but we should start seeing the ospreys soon as well.
