I have worked in this field since 1987. I have helped people who want to defeat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and/or chemical dependency through skills training and counseling. I love working on building self esteem and improving communication. I have mentored and supervised other therapists to be able to practice independently. I have given lectures about coping skills and theories to the general public as well as other professionals. I began with a BS in Communication from the University of Texas at Austin, then attended the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Masters of Science in Social Work. To be the most effective that I can be, I continue to be educated on an ongoing basis in theories and techniques to provide high quality counseling, support and psychotherapy online via encrypted video services. My style of therapy has a foundation in psychodynamic principles, which helps people understand how current reactions are linked to interactions from the past. I utilize a variety of techniques from many theories, including Humanistic, Cognitive, Gestalt, Object Relations, Bioenergetic therapy, and Biofeedback, to name a few. We work together in our session to gain insight and identify changes to be implemented in between sessions.
