The “Move Over Law,” as state legislature refers to it as, is a law that requires drivers to move over into an adjoining lane of traffic when approaching an emergency vehicle. “Emergency vehicle,” for the purpose of this law, is any highway maintenance vehicle, recovery vehicle (tow trucks), utility service vehicle or solid waste vehicle. Per the law, if it is unsafe to move over, drivers should slow down.
Be safe and follow the law so that everyone can make it home each day.

When do you pull over for an emergency vehicle?
Q: If an emergency vehicle is driving in the opposite direction you are traveling on a four-lane highway without a center median, what are you supposed to do? Just move to the right lane? Move to the right lane and slow down? Pull all the way to the shoulder and stop?
A: When an emergency vehicle, such as an ambulance, fire truck, or police car, displaying flashing red lights and sounding a siren approaches your vehicle on a two-way road, you must pull to the right and stop.
This is one of the Laws that keep us safe on these roads we travel. Be Aware and Safe!

As leaves begin to fall, wet leaves on the roadway can be as slippery as ice. They also can obscure traffic lines and other pavement markings, making driving in unfamiliar areas particularly difficult. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution on leaf-covered roadways.

What is diminished value?
Diminished value is a term generally used to describe the economic loss in a property's value as a result of having been damaged, it is often associated with vehicles that have been damaged in an accident. However, to know if you are eligible for compensation, you would need to check with your insurance company, or hire a diminished value expert. If you are interested in checking your eligibility, we would be happy to provide you with a diminished value expert's information.
Claimant VS. Insured...
This is an important difference and it reflects who was at fault in causing the accident. If you were at fault—your insurance company will be responsible for paying for the repair of both your car and the other vehicle. The other party is called the claimant and you are called the insured under this scenario.
If, however, the other person is found to be at fault, then his or her insurance company is responsible in this situation you are the claimant and they are the insured.
What is the TN move over Law?
The "Move Over Law," which passed in 2006 requires motorists to move over into the opposite lane of traffic, when safe to do so, or alternatively to slow down for emergency vehicles. In 2011, the law was expanded to include utility service equipment to the list of vehicles for which vehicles are required to either slow down or move over.
Tennessee was the 30th state to establish a move over law which creates a safety zone to protect police, firefighters, emergency personnel, and utility workers.
Nothing is more devastating than hearing stories from victims and the family of victims of workers who have experienced the dangers of violating the Move Over law. So please, if you are able to get over, do so, and if you are not able to move over, safely slow down.
