Anne Furno was born in Wales,U.K. where life was uncluttered, and where she had the freedom to explore her unique environment in which nature played an important part. Her recent book, A Village To Grow In expresses these sentiments well.
Art and Theater were her first loves, and these she was able to pursue and develop through school, college and on into her teaching career, combining the disciplines when such things as scenery backdrops were required.
After her move to California she took advantage of some fine teachers: Betty Davenport Ford, highly regarded for her clay sculptures, Eli Hazak for his prize winning bronzes, Phyllis Case Bennet, a respected water colorist and Ning Yeh, a nationally known Chinese Brush artist. All these media were intergrated into her craft, resulting in a variety of works to offer the public.
Brush painting is her current passion. She respects its simplicity, sensitivity and gentle philosophy, as it portrays the vitality of God’s creation through the interaction of balance and harmony.
Recently Anne discovered the beauty of hand made paper, and has combined the two media to form a new series called “Asian Voyages”.
Anne moved to Las Vegas in the 90’s and is “happily situated for life”
