Stella Chou, MD, PhD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and eye surgeon with a special interest in providing aesthetic treatments that enhance natural beauty at AVEC Medi-Spa in Sandy, Utah. Dr. Chou has provided cosmetic treatments for more than 20 years and has a keen understanding of how the body works, functions, and ages, as well as the best treatments to restore vigor and beauty.
Dr. Chou received both her bachelor’s and medical degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. To satisfy her strong desire to better understand human physiology, Dr. Chou attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and earned a doctoral degree in physiology. She then completed an externship in ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and a transitional medicine internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
Dr. Chou relocated to Utah to complete her ophthalmology residency at the John A. Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City. To improve her aesthetic skills, Dr. Chou trained with world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Stephen Mulholland.
When she’s not improving eye health and beauty, Dr. Chou is spending quality time with her family and two dogs. She also enjoys spending time outdoors participating in her favorite activities, which include skiing, hiking, and golf.
