With the increased use of disposable face masks during COVID-19, wildlife have been found tangled in the elastic bands of masks that have been thrown away. Take a minute to snip the straps before tossing your mask in the trash! It will help keep any animals safe that happen to be nosing around in the garbage.
Planning to get a puppy??
Breeders and Rescues often ask for the puppy (pet) to be seen by a vet within a small number of days. This can be difficult with the lack of openings in our schedule recently.
We, at Avery, are asking that you take these steps to help your process go smoother for us all.
1) Find out from your breeder or Rescue, as soon as you decide to get the puppy(pet), when the puppy(pet) will be ready for pick up.
2) CALL US ASAP to schedule that first appointment.
These simple steps will help to ease any stress on our schedule in trying to fit in last minute appointments. We want to see all the puppies, kittens and rescues and this will help to make that possible!

Now... saving the best for last. This is Laura. She is both a technician AND our practice manager. On this final day of tech week and Boss's day it seemed perfect to feature her today. She has worked at Avery for over 30 years!!! She amazing, highly skilled, so supportive and all around a fearless leader! We couldn't do it without her!! When not owning it as our lady boss she is the mother of 4 amazing grown kids! ❤
Now meet our NEWEST technician, Sarah! She has 2 whole months under her belt at Avery, but don't worry she has been a veterinary technician for 27 years!!! She's so energetic, knowledgeable and she to take on this new adventure that is Avery Animal Hospital! We are excited to have her and look forward to her experiences helping Avery grow. She is a devoted fur mom to her own pups when not working to take care of everyone elses! Let's show her all the Avery love!
This is Julie! She has been with Avery for just over 2 years now. She's a quiet one so watch out 😊. She's very hard working, very throughout and consistently reliable. She's a quick learner and has seamlessly fit into Avery these past couple years. She had taken on the task of being our newest doctors( Dr. Violi) primary technician. When not working she is at home with her obsession... small white scruffy dogs! She has 3 of her very own. Send the love on this last day of Veterinary Technician Week!
Meet Kelli, she has been with us a short 10 months as tech but has worked for Avery over 6 years as an assistant while working her way through tech school. She has been a great a fast learner, dedicated and amazingly skilled. We are excited for to continue her journey soon at a mixed animal practice where she can pursue her dream career further. We will be sad to see her go so soon but wish her the best of luck!!!
This is Kristen! She been with Avery for just over 3 years. She's loud, spirited and has a fun story for everything. She's tasked with keeping Dr. Fletcher going each day as his primary technician. She's brought such a great energy to Avery. When's she's not working she has her hands full at home with 2 (3yrs and 6 months) amazingly cute boys ! Send that love people!!

Meet Channie. She's been with us for over 11 years. She has compassion for all of our patients and enjoys working in all areas of the hospital. She currently has one old man cat named Bosco. During these crazy times she's been home more with her son for homeschooling and is enjoying the time with her kiddo. In her free time she loves running and reading. Send her some love!
Meet Lauren, she's been with us for a year and a half. She came with experience and has been a valuable asset. She jumps in when needed in any area of the hospital. She's currently in school to be a vet tech and also works part time at tractor supply helping educate their customers on pet care. She has 3 dogs, Fiona, Karma, and Dory that keep her busy at home. He's currently in school studying biology while working towards going to Vet school. Meet Lauren, she's been with us for 4 and a half years. She's always busy at work but never too busy to help anyone in need. Lauren is always one of our go to assistants when we have a really stressed out dog, her calm demeanor keeps the tension in those situations in check. She's currently in school to be a vet tech and lives in the short north with her husband Sean. The have a dog Chewie, a cat named Jade and recently added new kitty Isla. Aside from working at Avery she also enjoys working with horses. We have no doubt she'll reach her goals. Send her some love and well wishes!
Meet Trish, she's been with us for over 15 years! She runs the show at the front desk and knows just about every client by name or their pets. Trish knows what they need before they do and that's why our clients love her. Working at a hospital can be stressful, especially lately, but we have a great comic relief around with Trish. Being the best and most supportive mom is definitely a passion of hers, it's easy to see how much she cares. She puts her kiddos and family first and has fun doing it. When she does have down time she's an excellent artist and photographer. Send this lady some love, we're lucky to have her and all the skill and attention to detail she brings to the hospital!
