Free Pediatric Screenings For Myopia Control
Did you know August is Children's Eye Health and Safety Month?
At Azman Eye Care Specialists, we are at the forefront of protecting the health of children's eyes. We offer free screenings for pediatric keratoconus and for Myopia Control.
If you are concerned about your child's vision getting worse, they may be a good candidate for our Myopia Control program, which is an FDA approved treatment to slow down the progression of myopia (ie nearsightedness). High myopia can lead to eye diseases in the future, and we now have a way to protect the future of our kids eyes.

A New Approach to Dealing With Myopia in Kids
Azman Eye Care is excited to announce that our office has been given clearance by the MD Department of Health to reopen for elective and non-urgent medical procedures appointments!
Our office continues to stay committed to playing our part in preventing any further spread in our community, amongst our patients and our staff. During this very early stage, patients can expect the following:
Limited Appointments: We are committing more time between patients to clean equipment and minimize exposure between patients.
Pre-screening over the phone at scheduling, and on the day of appointment along with temperature checks at the door.
We have adjusted the waiting area to support social distancing.
Patients and Staff Members will be required to wear face masks at all times.
Our primary concern is the safety of our patients and our staff. We will continue to monitor further recommendations by the CDC and AOA.
Call 410-561-8050 to schedule your appointment or contact the office if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for putting your faith in our abilities and we look forward to seeing you in the office soon.
Thank you,
The Azman Eye Care Team

Today is World Keratoconus Day!
Thinking about all my wonderful patients who have this challenging condition and how much courage and strength you all have. It is my honor to take care of all of you and I am grateful for the trust you put in me to provide you with the highest level of care.
For those of you who don’t know what keratoconus is, it is an eye condition that affects one's vision due to corneal thinning which leads to blurred and distorted vision. Unfortunately, there is no cure for keratoconus, but it can be managed and treated with much success.
Please check out our website to learn more about keratoconus and feel free to check out our patient testimonial videos with patients who have keratoconus.
Best,
Dr. Benjamin Azman

Do "blue-blocking" lenses work to reduce eye strain on computers/smartphones? Let's follow the science....
In a recent double-masked, randomized controlled trial, researches concluded "that "it is extremely unlikely that blue light is a contributory factor to eye strain associated with computer use" and that "Clinicians should look to other factors that could contribute to computer vision syndrome".
But don't discount them entirely, as many researches believe there may have some long term health benefits such as protecting the retina (inner sensory layer of the eye) as well as maintaining proper circadian rhythms (sleep cycles).
