Dr. Babak Robert Bamshad is a leading urologist located in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles, California, serving patients throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Patients benefit from his expertise in treating urologic conditions ranging from urinary tract infections, incontinence, and enlarged prostate to erectile dysfunction, circumcision, and vasectomy.
Dr. Bamshad obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He subsequently attended the USC Keck School of Medicine and graduated with the distinction of Dean’s Scholar for Academic Excellence. Dr. Bamshad completed an internship and residency in general surgery and a residency in urology at Loma Linda University. During this time, he was elected as House Staff Association President. Dr. Bamshad was engaged in basic science as well as clinical research throughout his education and training. He has authored numerous scientific papers and his research findings have been presented at national and international urologic meetings.
Dr. Bamshad has been in private practice in West Los Angeles since 1999. He practices general urology and treats adults as well as children. In 2011, Dr. Bamshad was elected by his colleagues to serve as Clinical Chief of the Division of Urology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was subsequently re-elected by his division to serve a second term in this capacity. In addition to his clinical and administrative duties, Dr. Bamshad is involved with training of Urology residents. His other leadership positions include Secretary/Treasurer for Southern California Hospital in Culver City and previous Chief of Surgery at Lincoln Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Bamshad is married to Dr. Nasi Barcohana, a pediatric dentist, and together they have three children. Dr. Bamshad’s hobbies include studying military history and classic automobiles.
