Great day with my awesome coworkers Rhonda Maynard Sachs, Cassandra Leann and clients to help Giving the Basics prepare to distribute personal care items to those in need. This hub reaches approx 500 centers in/around KC, including schools, shelters, food pantries, and elderly services. Personal care items aren’t covered with SNAP (food assistance) dollars. This organization helps rebuild dignity to those how struggle getting the basics and keeping good hygiene. Their volunteer numbers have dropped with covid. It is easy to spread out and be socially distant. You can sign up your own group of friends who are in your “bubble” as well.
What a great cause, what a great day, what a great feeling to help.
We plan to do this every month. If you would like to join us, let me know!
