APTA is fighting the 9% Medicare payment cut through advocacy directed to both Congress and CMS. CMS is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It is the federal agency that administers Medicare and works in partnership with states to administer Medicaid and CHIP.
We need as many comments as possible submitted to CMS on the CY 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule opposing the 9% cut to physical therapy. Please use the template on the APTA Patient Action Center and add in your personal story on how these cuts would impact you, your patients, and your practice. Also, encourage fellow colleagues, patients, friends, family, etc. to submit comments of their own.
Thank you for your advocacy.

Meet Verlencia, our fantastic Westchase DPT! Verlencia graduated with her DPT back in 2014 from Florida A+M. Along with her degree, V is also involved in multiple other physical therapy endeavors including her post-doctoral fellowship as well as becoming a running rehabilitation specialist. She has experience as a clinical educator for physical therapy students, helping many Tampa Bay PT students get the most value out of their clinical rotations. She loves to work out, eat, and travel when she isn't at the clinic, and her favorite exercise is the deadlift!
Surprise! Today's clinician is also celebrating his birthday today! Happy birthday to Garrett, the latest addition to our clinician team! Garrett graduated last year from USF with his DPT soon after being a student physical therapist doing clinical rotations with us. He is now an official member of our team, and works primarily at our Carrollwood location. He loves watching football, cooking, playing video games, and spending time with his girlfriend Ali (another one of our former student PTs!) His favorite exercises are open book rotations and eccentric step downs. Hope your birthday is a great one Garrett! We appreciate you!
