Warrick is the type of athlete we should be celebrating.

When he came back he was stronger, the maturity was there. We'll never have another Muhammad Ali. Forget about it.' - Angelo Dundee

Out there in the spotlight You're a million miles away Every ounce of energy You try to give away As the sweat pours out your body Like the music that you play
It is with great sorrow that we announce we are shutting our doors. I would like to thank those of you who frequented my establishment and found it to be the place you loved. Unfortunately in this current business environment we can no longer maintain the operation to the standard that you all deserve. What had been a life long dream for me, I had the chance to attempt. God bless all in these trying times and may your dreams reach your goals. Please keep an eye to the Facebook page, as We are licensed to the end of the month and may have a guest farewell night before the end of the month. Thank you to the Koppen and Melton family for your support getting us to this point.
80s Baseball December 5, 2020 at 10:22 AM · Not from the '80s but it was a move that had a major impact on the decade: On this date in 1978, Peter Edward Rose signed a four year, $3.2 Million deal with the Phillies. Pete was very close to signing with the Royals, but Bill GIles tells a great story in his book, "Pouring Six Beers at a Time" about how the Phillies locked Pete up. Kansas City had offered Pete more money than Philadelphia but in a last-ditch effort, Giles got a National League Green Book and showed Pete where he ranked among the all-time National League leaders in hits, games played, etc. He then pointed out to Pete that if he went to Kansas City, he would never be the all-time leader in these categories in either league and asked if he'd reconsider signing with Philadelphia. Pete agreed but Giles still needed to find more money so he went to WPHL-TV and said if the team signed Pete their ratings would go up and they could charge more for advertising. They chipped in some money, the deal got done, and the Phillies won the World Series in 1980.
