Barbara was a third grade teacher for over 35 years in Middletown Public Schools. She also was an active and devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church and a 63 year Life Member of Prosser Chapter # 367 Order of the Eastern Star where she served her chapter in many offices during her membership.

Amy was very proud of her Native American heritage and was part of the Seneca Indian Heron Clan. She was a graduate of Middletown School of Nursing graduating in 1971 with her Registered Nurse Certificate. She was a critical care nurse for many years at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was Director of Nursing for Middletown Regional Hospital and VP of Nursing. Her last employment was President and CEO of Hospice Care of Middletown retiring in 2009.
