Midwife
(mid-wahyf) noun
Keeping calm in a crisis and working under stress is their superpower! They support, empower and instill self-belief in the women they care for. They are the best at listening and will advise, encourage and counsel all whilst delivering babies. A truly amazing midwife is hard to find, difficult to part with and impossible to forget.

So many things to talk about this month! October is a busy month for us...
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. We are so lucky to have our sonographer Jaime who works with Empty Arms of Greater Bangor to help support those of you who have experienced or will experience this tragedy in your life. We don't talk enough about this subject, but we want to make sure you know NOW that this is NEVER something you should feel ashamed of, or that you can't talk about it. Help us normalize this subject!
This month is also Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month. Again, we are so blessed to have Jaime and her counterpart Gina as our office sonographers. These two ladies "see with sound", that is a pretty amazing superpower! Thank you, Ladies!!!
Next week is National Midwifery Week. Our very own Raylene is going to get some lovely surprises next week, but shhhhhh... don't tell her yet. Our new midwife Susan won't be joining us until the week after but we are so excited for her to start and we hope you all love her.
And last but not least: Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This subject is so close to our hearts and we look forward to sharing some great posts with you over the course of the month.
Thank you so much for following us here: We hope to keep you all informed and hopefully entertained over the next 4 weeks!
If you see this lovely lady at the front desk today, please wish her a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you Kaylee !!!

Man! What a week!!! Seems like it flew by, but that is one of the amazing things about these ladies- they make it look effortless!
We hope all the Medical Assistants out there realize how valuable they are. We are absolutely blessed to have these amazing women support us and uplift us. Their hard work and dedication is something they should be recognized for
EVERY day, but we hope we were able to show our appreciation this week.
Thank You All!!!
And finally... Kori-Ann!
While Kori-Ann doesn't technically work for us, she has been with us for years... since our days on Mt. Hope Avenue! Kori-Ann works for Quest Diagnostics and does the blood draws here in the office.
She has a fur-baby named Pumpkin and LOVES the outdoors. She is very active and loves to explore nature, dance, and hang out with friends and family!
Little known fact about Kori-Ann~ she is also known as the office Betty Crocker! This woman can BAKE!!!
If you see Kori-Ann in the office, make sure to say hello!!!
Say hello to the rest of the crew! Our lovely ladies... Heather, Shay, and Lisa!!!
Heather is up first. You will recognize Heather immediately by her laugh, her gorgeous smile, and her constantly upbeat attitude. You can't get this woman down. She is the ultimate professional. We have been blessed to have had Heather with us for several years now. Her quiet strength has helped us through so much, and we cannot express in words just how much Heather means to us.
What you may not know about Heather is she has a serious love of FOOTBALL. Go Cowboys!
Shay is next. As you can see from the pictures, Shay loves nay-nays. Horses, people! Shay is currently in nursing school and working with us full time. This lady has serious drive. When she's not here, in school, or on a horse, this amazing person loves to spend time with friends and family. She's pretty incredible and we are beyond lucky to have her!
Last but not least is Lisa! This woman is incredible. She does not know how incredible she is! In this slip of a woman lies the heart of a warrior, the soul of an angel, and possibly the mouth of a sailor. ;) Her sense of humor and fun is outstanding. She has 2 beautiful girls who are her whole life. She loves the outdoors and loves FUN. We got so lucky that she joined us!
When you see these ladies this week- make sure to say hello! They do not get told enough how amazing they are!!!
Want to see what they look like under their masks???
We'd like to introduce our newest Medical Assistants Alexandria, Hayley, and Mackenzie! We will be featuring our "seasoned" MA's later this week (don't worry ladies- we got you).
Alexandria joined us a few months ago and you will likely recognize her by her tall stature and AMAZING hair (we're not jealous, you are). She has 4 little kiddos and a love of the outdoors.
Hayley is one of our newest ladies. Her kiddos have fur and that makes her a-ok in our book. Hayley seems to have a good sense of humor and you all know we need that around here! She is easily recognizable for her top knot (Gurl got hair!).
And finally Mackenzie! Mackenzie clearly loves her friends and family. She is very active outdoors and loves to travel. Luckily she travelled right into our sphere!
If you see these hard working ladies in the office this week- make sure to say hello!

Ohhhhhh Annnnnnnnna! We Lovvvvvvve youuuuuuuuu! You're the one, the one for... us!
Anna joined us back in February as well, and we have to say... this woman rocks!
Anna is a WHNP- Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. WHNP's are nurse practitioners who specialize in comprehensive healthcare for women specifically relating to issues that are unique to women (periods/menopause/hormones/ya know what I mean).
Anna LOVES the outdoors. She has a couple of furbabies and lives somewhat locally with her husband. This woman makes a MEAN Butter Chicken. In addition to her expertise and just all around good cheer, Anna brings a quiet calm to our sometimes boisterous office. Don't let her fool you though- she's got a great sense of humor!
Say hello to Anna! We are so lucky to have her!!!
Happy Nurse Practitioner Week to Emily!!!
Emily joined us back in February- just before all the craziness of Covid started. She is a FNP- Family Nurse Practitioner, who specializes in comprehensive healthcare for individuals across all ages and genders! We are so lucky to have her!
Fun loving, sometimes goofy, but all around amazing, Emily has made her way into our hearts in a short period of time. She loves the outdoors, her husband and son, and her family and friends.
We are so lucky to have found our Nurse Practitioners, but especially Anna and Emily!
Just a reminder our office will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th for observance of Veterans' Day. As always, if your need is emergent you can reach the provider on call.
& a BIG thank you to our very own, Veteran, Dr.Smith!
Happy National Nurse Practitioner Week!!!
We are so lucky to have Anna and Emily in our practice.
Nurse Practitioners have been providing healthcare to patients of all ages and walks of life for nearly half a century. Despite the fact that more than 900 patient visits are made to NP's each year, many people are still unclear about their role in the healthcare world!
Nurse Practitioners are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate and prescribe treatment plans. In short, they figure out what is wrong and help you fix it!
There are more than 290,000 NPS practicing in America today. We are so blessed to have Anna and Emily with us! Make sure if you see them this week you say "Happy NP Week"!
