Bayada Hospice's Mascot, Emma, made a window visit to bring some cheer and smiles to the faces at a Local Senior Living Community. Dogs always have a way of making a postiive impact and Bayada Hospice made that happen for many residents who got to safely see Emma with blowing kisses and waving to her waggly tail and sweet face. Bayada Hospice had a blast helping celebrate Assisted Living Week. Thank you Assisted Living Heroes for all you do to help support your residents and thank you for letting Bayada Hospice be apart of it.
Meet Dan and his wife Karen.
Dan wanted to have a conversation with one of his favorite musicians, Joey Molland with Badfinger. This is how it went.
When Kathleen, our Psych Social manager first met Badfinger’s Joey Molland, over a phone call, it was clear he was as funny,
humble and good natured as they come. When he agreed to FaceTime with our patient, Dan Peters, we knew it would
be a good time. Joey and Dan share a love for the same models of Gibson guitars, and both have strong feelings and great stories
about family, sports, spirituality and rock.
The conversation, in Dan and Karen’s kitchen last Friday, was about 90 minutes long.
It was replete with humor and two guys getting on as if they’d known each
other all of their lives. They talked about physical trials and then talked about learning to play by ear, another thing they have in common.
Joey shares a few stories from the early days and talks about some of Dan’s other favorite musicians. Joey had told Dan and Karen he once played in Bethlehem and asked to come visit when he promotes his new album in the area. The invitation was immediately sealed, and I think he even managed to
get Karen to promise a home cooked meal.
Joey admired the positive energy, courage and hearts of Dan and Karen.. but he admits he kind of fell in love with Dan, just a bit. Who can blame him, really?
Like so many connections we make, some just become a part of our hearts.
