When heated conversations arise, identify a de-escalation tool that works for you:
1) Politely remove yourself from the conversation to take a break
2) Take deep breaths to help calm and refocus yourself
3) Use humor, as appropriate, to ease the tension
This year, the Health Care Heroes event highlighted many leaders who have worked tirelessly through a pandemic to still provide exceptional care. We’re proud to say that our Vice President of Psychiatry Dr. Andrea Raby was named a Health Care Heroes winner in the category of mental health.
