For beginners, it may be intimidating to take a class. New skills can be challenging to learn, but you have more talent in you than you think. We are all artists, deep down, and our creativity is unique to each of us, we just need an outlet. Hone your skills or gain new ones in one of our classes ranging from fundamentals and introduction to advanced challenges.

Most of our classes don't have prerequisites, so you don't need any experience to dive in. The cost of our classes include everything you need: supplies, take away instructions, and instructor fees.

Come make a spooky wire spider this weekend! From 3pm to 5pm we will be learning how to manipulate wire into an 8 legged friend. Prepare yourself for Halloween by making a scary, yet fun spider using Czech pressed glass beads and copper wire. This class is appropriate for all ages. Those under 8 years of age should be accompanied by adult supervision.

Beautiful Blooms as far as the eye can see. Yesterday was one of our longest classes, but we had a lot of fun making these gorgeous flowers using curling and turning herringbone and peyote stitches. Students had many colors to choose from and they all turned out amazingly.

Bonus photo: A cat named Peggy Sue! People at higher risk need to stay quarantined and we want them to be able to create beautiful items as well and join in the fun. Sharon, Peggy Sue's mom, is one of those people. She purchased a kit for the class to do on her own and decided to do it in tandem with our class. We were happy to have her there in spirit. Peggy Sue was more than happy to "help."

This Sunday, November 29th from 12pm to 5pm, we will be hosting a jewelry trunk show in the Bead Lab! Zanetta Hoehle of @tumbled_wire_designs is the featured designer and creator. She's known for her beautiful wirework, which she teaches here at @beadologyiowa . She frequently uses stone cabochons, swarovski crystals, and stone and glass beads. She's even used stained glass. Her work, seen here, is available in store daily, but this Sunday she will bring her larger inventory.

Two classes this weekend. A lot of fun was had.

Friday was Gyrl's Night Out with guest instructor Zanetta Hoehle of @tumbled_wire_designs which was FULL. She taught us how to make wire hearts, just in time for Valentine's Day. The stitches she demonstrated are great basics to bring to new projects in the future.
.
Saturday was the Netted Helix. It's a more complex project, but our students were up to the challenge. As always, different colors and bead sizes make a huge difference and it's fun to see how each one turns out.
