Becerra’s Tortillas & Tamales was started in 1963 by my maternal Grandparents, Bacilio & Candida Becerra in Bryan, Texas. Whereas a kid I learned how to make tortillas from raw corn, masa and at that time pork head tamales. I also learned how to make numerous other traditional Tex-Mex dishes like menudo, chile, carne guisada, arroz con pollo, breakfast tacos, various sauces, enchiladas, and the ever popular crispy and soft tacos. After graduating from Texas A&M University and having a successful career in consulting, product, brand and demand management I decided to start a salsa & tamale business. After perfecting a few staple recipes, identifying a line of need based product and streamlining a scalable production process. I started Becerra's Tamales, naming it after my grandparents. We started with one salsa in 2012 and have grown to three in house bottled salsas, a signature BBQ sauce and 8 different handmade tamales. We pride ourselves in being a high-quality small batch operation with our focus on you, the customer. Becerra’s maintains high product standards by using high quality cuts of beef, poultry, pork, seafood and vegetables, all natural ingredients, authentic Tex-Mex regional seasonings.
