DOG OF THE WEEK!
This week's Becky's Pet Care Dog of the Week is none other than this handsome man, Hamish!
Hamish is a Pit-Bull mix. He's a very curious dog, and absolutely ADORES getting his belly rubbed.
Hamish is our Dog of the Week for a few reasons. For one, he's a genuine pleasure to walk. Hamish hardly, if ever, pulls on his leash. He's just so happy to be outside and with his walker. He's also this week's winner because of his world famous hugs! After his walk, and getting a treat of course, Hamish loves to try and crawl up into his sitter's lap. Of course with his size, he doesn't really fit, so they end up in this awkward hugging position that never fails to bring a smile to his walker's face.
We love you Hamish!

It's National Black Dog Day!
To celebrate and raise awareness, we're highlighting just a handful of the wonderful black dogs that we love to care for.
National Black Dog Day is all about raising awareness for the plight of black dogs awaiting adoption. They are often - and wrongfully - associated with aggression. Black dogs are also harder to photograph, so they don't do as well when posted on rescue and shelter websites. As a result, they can be harder for rescued to adopt out.
But we can tell you with full confidence that black dogs can be some of our favorite clients!
So Happy National Black Dog Day everyone!

For the first time, we have a duo as our Becky's Pet Care Dogs of the Week!
Charlie and Miles are two brothers that we've cared for. They're both Golden Retrievers and both pisses that Golden energy and friendliness that is such a staple of the breed.
Charlie and Miles are our Dogs of the Week because of their wonderfully loving nature, and the way they warmed up to their sitter with no hesitation. Also, the way they love to play and wrestle with each other is such a joy to watch, and their sitter couldn't help but smile at the live they showed him when it became time for pets.

Daeden is our Becky's Pet Care Dog of the Week! Congrats Daeden!!
Daedan is a wonderful pup with a beautiful brindle coat. She's a wonderful girl who is always excited to go on her walks. She loves to stop and sniff a lot, and is quick to flash that winning smile of hers.
She may be a little shy when upon first meeting her, but once she becomes comfortable she opens up and is happy to share her warm, kind soul.
We're so fortunate to be able to care for a great girl like Daedan!!!

Last seen crossing Lee Chapel Road, headed west toward Britford Drive, Burke, Virginia.
An 8-month old, female, tan and white husky/lab mix weighing approximately 50 lbs. May have been hit by a car and injured. She is microchipped. Please contact her owner at 808-277-6711, or Burke Animal Clinic at 703-569-9600 as soon as possible if you see or find her.
Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day.
As a continuation of yesterday's Training Tip Tuesday, we're taking today as an opportunity to share this infographic from www.petobesityprevention.org, a website run by an organization dedicated to raising awareness about the troubles of pet obesity, and how to combat it.
We know that a chonky pet can be almost unbearably cute, but we cannot ignore the toll that it takes on our pet's health and lifespan.
A good, responsible pet owner should always try to recognize when your pet is sliding towards obesity and immediately begin working with their vet to manage the pet's weight.
So bear in mind the health problems detailed in this infographic. If you or someone you know owns a pet that is dealing with weight troubles, check out your resources online and check in with your veterinarian about what you can do to keep their weight in check.
