National Farmer's Day was previously known as Old Farmer's Day. October is very fitting for this day because it is near the end of harvest and many farmers will be able to take a break and rest from their hard labor.
Thank a farmer for the hard work they do to supply us with food.

This day recognizes all of the brave military personnel who have been deployed, are sacrificing, or have sacrificed their lives to defend our country. If you know a military family, ask what kind of support they could use. Needs may very, but some just need a word from home.

While we appreciate your non perishable donations the food items listed below are what we buy for our families in need of food assistance.
2 Green beans, 2 corn, 1 spaghetti, 1 spaghetti sauce, 2 each chicken and tomato soup, 2 tuna, 2 can fruit, 6 mac and cheese, 1 box of potatoes and 1 cereal are what the family order consists of. Families with children receive 2 more mac and cheese, 1 box of crackers, 1 peanut butter,1 jelly and 2 cans of spaghettio's. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner baskets include 2 green beans, 2 cream of mushroom soup, 2 gravy, 1 box of potatoes, 1 can of yams, 1 bag of marshmallows, 1 box stuffing, 1 each pancake mix, syrup, cake mix and frosting.
With Christmas just around the corner, we anticipate a record number of people needing food assistance and any donations to help reduce the amount that we have to buy would greatly appreciated!!
