Every once in awhile we are asked about colic.
Colic is a diagnosis given to say..."your baby is crying a lot, and we aren't totally sure why."
Common causes of colic may be:
*Food allergy/intolerance
*Excessive air with swallowing
*Overfeeding
*Muscle tension
*Birth trauma
*Family stress
The cause of colic can usually be determined, but may take some digging! If your baby is crying more than what you think is normal, follow-up with your pediatrician and a lactation consultant who will take the time to dig with you to determine the cause.
The best meal you might ever have is that meal after delivery!
What was your first meal after delivery??
Do you already have it planned?

Perinatal depression doesn't always involve experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings, however, it most certainly can presents this way for some.
You are not alone. If you feel that you be experiencing depression, don't wait. Discuss this with a trusted family member, friend, and your healthcare provider.
