Lauri James Smith:
Having roots in a community of five hundred in Southern Oregon, and spending half her life in Southern California, Lauri has a diverse background giving deep inference to her work.
She has owned and operated her own interior design business for over twenty years, implemented events for ten years, and completed her ninth year teaching Interior design college students. While in California, she consulted with such companies as Litton Industries, the Automobile Club, First Interstate Bank, Foursquare International, and numerous homeowners in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. She has also had the privilege of designing spaces in five different states and in Europe.
As a Certified Interior Designer (CID), Lauri can assist in making your living and work environment functional and aesthetic. CID recognizes the professional service of preparing nonstructural or non-seismic plans consistent with sections 5805 and 5538 of the California Business and Professions Code in accordance with local building departments. With a background in design and organizational management, she will offer consultation and implementation to give permanent changes from the inside out, including blueprints and bidding. She has been trained in IBM Workflow Efficiency and with a passion for organization, has seen the positive changes from working in a professional organized space.
For events, she “begins with the end in mind,” planning what people will see, feel, touch, smell, and taste. Having the five senses of the person involved is what makes Lauri’s events a five star experience.
Professional teaching was added later in Lauri’s career but mentoring has always been a part of her life. Teaching from a relational platform and sharing her passion of design come naturally.
