Bucket list item complete! I hiked across the Grand Canyon! The longest single day of hiking I’ve ever done. Didn’t have it in me to head back across today, and that’s ok! Ran out of water the last 4 miles up, but a guardian angel gave me some water as she headed back across to finish her rim to rim to rim (thanks, Mandi!). Over 100° at the bottom, 26ish miles, and almost 13 hours of non-stop hiking. All in all, definitely an adventure!!

You wouldn’t run a marathon in hiking socks. So don’t workout in a mask not designed for working out. My Under Armour mask came in and I absolutely love it in the gym!
We are back in the gym from 5-8 am M-F! During this time all trainers and clients are required to wear masks at all times. Sessions after 8 am will continue to utilize our outdoor training facility to take advantage of the Arizona winter and have even more social distancing. Masks are not required for our outdoor sessions.
Control the things you can. Whether it’s in the gym or at my outdoor training facility, I make sure my clients stay healthy while getting the results they want. Change isn’t easy. But we adapt and do the things we need to in order to move forward. Ten years ago today, the first group of clients I ever trained for a triathlon had their first race. It includes my lifelong friend Eddy who passed away in July. A bittersweet memory and a reminder to make the most of the time we have.

2020 is now behind us. But the same rings true for every year. Every year we ask for change and growth, and every year there is change. It is up to us to grow. 2021 will, without a doubt, be a transformative year for all of us. As we all seek and await a time where we can return what we consider "normal," our lives keep rolling along. There is no pause button for our health, our relationships, our wellbeing, or the present.
