Flashback Friday! Today we want to share a celebration with you - on August 1st, we received this lovely message from one of our clients:
"Google Photos shared a pretty special memory with us from 3 years ago today. Our little Floydie officially finished his long journey of tumor removal, a skin graft, and multiple visits a week for 8 months to you. We thought it might be fun for you to revisit the party you threw him and I have attached two pictures from the day. I teared up when looking at them!
We will never forget your kindness towards him and us. You never turned us away when we were in an "emergency" situation and the bandage art helped us find some joy in all of the fear. Thank you for all that you did and continue to do for our boys. We can't imagine our lives without you all!"
We are so happy we were able to help Floyd, and we love whenever he or his brother Walter visit us. Thank you, Heather and Kevin, for sharing your special memory with us, and for allowing us to be there during your time of need!
Attention all Scottie owners! The Scottish Terrier Club of Chicago is hosting a bladder cancer screening for Scottish Terriers on September 13th. Please see the attached picture for details. Included in each scan is a flash drive of the scan to be shared with the owner’s veterinarian.
Please feel free to share this with any Scottie owners in your life as well as any veterinary staff you may know! Thank you in advance for your help in spreading the word.
Congratulations are in order for Skeeter and her owner/handler, Dr. Scarbeck! Skeeter, our favorite sightless beagle mix, continues to amaze us with her nosework skills - this past weekend she competed and earned her NW1 title from the National Association of Canine Scent Work. She was also honored with the Harry Award, an award "dedicated in loving memory and honor of a noble dog, Harry the Beauceron, [that is] awarded to the most outstanding rescue dog that demonstrates extraordinary ability and spirit in K9 Nose Work".
We are so proud of you, Skeeter!

Worried about coronavirus and your pets?
Scientists are still trying to understand which animals may be susceptible to the new coronavirus. Much is unknown, but there’s no evidence so far that pets can spread the virus to people. Even though there is so far no evidence that domestic animals can pass on an infection to people, it is still advised that people who are sick should take the same precautions about contact with their pets that they would with humans.
“There’s still a lot we don’t know,” Dr. Terio said. “We’re all trying to play catch up and learn about this virus in real time, as things are happening.”
