The ABQ BioPark will begin phase one of reopening its doors by opening the Botanic Garden to New Mexico BioPark Society members on Tuesday, June 2. The Botanic Garden will open to the public on Tuesday, June 9.
A limited reopening for members only will allow time for new ticketing procedures to be evaluated ahead of the public opening.
Tingley Beach will also reopen to the public on June 9 for fishing and other activities, but the number of guests will be limited. During this initial phase, the Zoo and Aquarium will remain closed.
In order to keep visitors safe, the ABQ BioPark has made a number of changes to ticketing and experiences.
In the first phase of reopening, limited tickets will be available and guests are asked to reserve their tickets in advance online to secure their spot. Visitors will have a 30-minute window to arrive for their scheduled visit to the Botanic Garden. Timed ticketing will allow for proper social distancing at the facility. For the safety of our animals, face masks or other face coverings are required at this time.
The Garden Walk is a 1-mile path through many of the beautiful areas of the Botanic Garden. Indoor facilities, the pollinator and butterfly pavilion and the Children's Fantasy Garden will be closed.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome guests back to the Botanic Garden this June," said Paul Garver, ABQ BioPark guest services manager. "Visitors will no doubt notice some changes in the way we're doing things. These modifications are to keep our guests, staff and animals as safe as possible. We can't wait to share the wonders of wildlife and nature with all of our friends once again."
