Oh how we’ve missed this bus. This morning we were able to take a city drive! We went down memory lane visiting our favorite parks, homes of residents, and beautiful neighborhoods with amazing fall foliage. We are so thankful for the nice weather and a chance to see the city!

Thank you to Our wonderful BFM Chef, Stacy! She is always enriching happiness for residence by making special treats.
Today she went above and beyond and made homemade cinnamon rolls for a future resident with a personalized note.
She had heard that he had been a baker all of his life and that one of his favorite things to make were cinnamon rolls!
We are so grateful to have such loving BFM that we work with each day!
I can always find Ellen working on a puzzle at the the pool table after dinner. She says it’s part of her exercise routine to stand and put a puzzle together for at least 30 minutes daily .
Helen and Charlotte finally finished the puzzle! Happy Friday indeed!

Here is our Bickford Family Member spotlight of the week, Kelaiah. She is a wonderful, kind hearted, hard worker who really enjoys being part of the community here at Bickford. This is her first CNA job and she says Bickford has already taught her so much. Kelaiah lives 5 minutes from work and loves spending time outside camping and hiking. We are so fortunate to have her on our team!

Here is your weekly Bickford Family Member highlight! Meet Farida.. an incredibly sweet and caring individual. She is loving her time and experience here at Bickford. She has been here in the states for 5 years and says that this is by far her favorite job so far! We love her and the residents do too!
Thank you to the amazing Lakeview Village team for all of their occupational, physical and speech therapy love for our residents. Speech therapist Lisa spent the afternoon with Darline and these two got pretty silly by the end of their visit!!

Winter happy hours look a little different this year, but we are still having a great time! We are now zoom calling happy hours with our amazing entertainers!

This week I want to introduce Debbie as our staff highlight! She is a legend around here. Debbie has worked in this building for 24 years, the last 10 of them being for Bickford! She knows this place in and out and is an incredible resource. She is one of our housekeepers now and has done almost everything from kitchen manager to prep cook, maintenance and dietary staff as well! She loves being here so deeply and we love her too. She has a humongous heart and work ethic and truly does whatever it takes!! Thank you, Debbie.

So...we were learning a little about Ireland today, listening to some music and looking at pictures of the countryside when John pipes up “Hey...there’s my house”! I looked down and it was a picture of a VERY large castle...I peeked up and this was the look on his face.

This Morning our friends at Pets For Life were able to zoom chat with us. During this call we met three service dogs and their loving owner. She shared that the dogs love going to the library to read with children, enjoy going to dog school (and dog college), we even saw them do some tricks! We can’t wait to have them back at Bickford for a pet parade once the weather warms up!
