Friday night happy hour! Everyone always has some fun. Appetizer plate included a salmon cake with a remoulade sauce, apple cider cupcakes with a brown sugar cinnamon frosting, pretzels dipped in goat cheese mixed with honey and pecans, and fresh fruit.

I’ve been passing out the daily activity sheets to those residents that like them. Barb really liked her sudoku yesterday but wasn’t quite sure if the print was big enough on today’s word search but promised she’d still try!
Big shout out to Kindra from The Loft for donating today’s prizes!! We played Doorway Bingo today! Split the building up 3 ways and called many many games to let the residents win some prizes and have some fun!

Join us with the fun from home!! Make sure to snap a picture of your outfits and costumes! There will be a contest for those who participate and a costume contest voted on by the residents. Friday the 30th we will run a parade on each shift handing candy out to the residents so they can see the staff and judge their costumes. Let's have some fun and lighten the mood and lift residents spirits!!

Shirley got her nails and her hair done today and she says she feels like a million bucks!
Manicure day! We put together the mobile cart and go door to door to get everyone’s nails trimmed, filed, and painted if they want!
Jeanette working on her daily exercises. When she moved, in her arthritis was so bad in one of her shoulders, she could barely reach for anything or lift her hand above her head. Now every day she works on that shoulder with me and she can reach across her table to grab anything she needs without having to stand up and walk over to it. Even at 105 you can work in your body to keep it moving!

Not the best picture, but this captured a really sweet moment between our BFM Chelsea and Velma. We had music playing in the living room and Chelsea remembered Velma talking about how she used to love to dance. So she took her hand and took the time to dance with Velma! It was such a sweet moment.

A scenic bus ride was just what we needed today! We listened to some great music, and visited Miller Park, downtown Bloomington, ISU, uptown Normal, Anderson Park, and drove all the way out to see the windmills!
Sara got her hair cut then decided to join us for a walk in the halls for walking club!
Karen got a cut and style today! I had her pose for a quick photo shoot! She was so happy.
We made some Dr. Seuss “Truffula Trees”. Happy Dr. Seuss Day!

This matching game was a little trickier than the one we usually like to do. You have the match the numbers and match the scene (and some of the scenes were very similar). That didn't stop Merilyn though! She got the hang of it pretty quick, and made it through all of them :-)
Ida enjoyed getting her nails done by BFM Shatrica. She picked a pretty purple and pink, and made sure to show everyone when they were done
David and Nancy have such a beautiful love! She enjoys being around him so much, that she even falls asleep smiling when he's there :-) haha. We are so happy they joined our family!
Happy birthday to Dr. Seuss! We had some silly themed snacks and read some old Dr. Seuss books! Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, And to Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street. Always fun to have a little giggle!
Merilyn is a busy woman today! I asked her if someone stuck her with babysitting... she smiled big and said, "well...I guess so, but I like it" haha
Jack got his nails cleaned up today, and enjoyed a nice hand massage :-)
Mondays are manicure day at Mary B's, and Ida loves getting her nails done!
We got a new trivia game, and Bill helped get it ready by separating the pieces. I told him he better not be copying the questions and answers haha :-)

Did you know today is national caramel chocolate day?! Well, Lisa and Emily from Transitions Hospice did it again with their sweetness! They brought us an awesome basket of goodies to celebrate this yummy day!!
