About

There is no higher calling,
no greater purpose than that of a caregiver.
Somehow, we’ve come to believe that caregiving
is just for some of us and not all of us.
Yet at our core, we are all made to love, to connect,
to extend ourselves in service of others.
The question is ... do we have the will to love, to do what it takes,
to risk ourselves in caring, even when the burden is great?
In times of happiness, in times of sadness -
we are that caregiver.
WHATEVER IT TAKES

One of my favorite parts about giving a tour of our Mary B’s is introducing the families to Emefa and the fun and out of the box ideas she comes up with for activities. Today she searched outside for sticks, laminated paper money, and attached magnets to both so the residents could do some money fishing! 💵 🎣
Families oftentimes miss the “good stuff”. The moments that are missed because they cant be around all the time. Fortunately for us....we ARE around all the time! Let me share a few... Bob, the charmer, has a unique way with words. A few weeks ago I overheard Bob call someone “grandma”. Immediately I thought to myself “oh boy....” I walk around the corner to find Caroline walking towards me. I ask if she’s ok and she says “why yes! How are you?!” I assumed maybe she didn’t hear it. Fast forward to last night, Bob and Caroline are sitting at neighboring tables in the dining room. Bob hears Caroline order extra bacon on her baked potato so he rolls over to her and asks her about her choice. Next I hear “ Ay! Atta girl grandma! Extra bacon!” I close my eyes, drop my head, and mentally began preparing myself to do damage control. I turn to find the two of them cracking up. Apparently It’s a term of endearment LOL
Everyday, we go around the halls of AL and Mary B’s with the Munchie Cart. When you hear the bell, you know Louise is around the corner waiting for you with a treat! Make sure to check out the video below!
