#WednesdayWellness tips for managing skin irritation from hand washing: 1. Use fragrance & dye-free soaps and moisturizers. 2. Apply moisturizer frequently after washing while skin is still damp, but let hands dry first if using sanitizer. 3. Use sanitizer if hands are dry and itchy - sanitizer doesn’t strip natural oils as much as soap and water. 4. Ointments and creams are more moisturizing than lotion. 5. Use hydrocortisone 1% for flares and for 3 days after symptoms clear.
