A client once told me, “I married Bill for life, but not for lunch!” It was funny and memorable, but she was expressing a common concern. We are honored to announce that Forbes named our own Bryce Danley as one of the Best-in-State Wealth Advisors for 2020. On this day, October 13th 1775, the Second Continental Congress authorized the purchase of two vessels to be armed for a cruise against British merchantmen; this resolution created our Continental Navy and is considered the first establishment of the U.S. Navy designed to protect shipping, defend the coast, and make it easier to seek out support from foreign countries. Today we celebrate the 245th birthday of our U.S. Navy, and want to recognize the Sailors, Officers and Pilots, including our very own Karen Wollam, who have elected to serve and protect us. We thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our country!
Next up in our series leading up to Thanksgiving is Brooks Danley! Brooks says "I am thankful for my family, friends and clients. Every year I am even more and more aware of how important those relationships are. My hope is to be able to pour more of myself into those people and deepen those relationships each year."
Next up in our series of our "what are your thankful for" posts is Karen Wollam! Karen is thankful "for my family and that we are really close. I am especially thankful for my mom and my sweet boy, William. God has really blessed me with an amazing family."
As many of you know, we have been searching for a new team member for the past few weeks, and we are excited to announce that our search is over! We would like you all to meet Matthew Hanvey! Matt is a Fort Worth native who loves his hometown and all it offers. He will soon be celebrating his 15th wedding anniversary with his wife Kristen. Together they have two girls Georgia (9) and Adeline (7). He is a TCU graduate, currently roots for the Aledo Bearcats and spends his free time hunting, fly fishing, reading and working out. We are very excited to have him join us at Danley & Associates - please join us in welcoming him to the team!
It is not lost on our group at Danley & Associates how blessed we truly are. As we start this holiday season, we would like to continue building on something that we did last year: for the next two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, our team of advisors and staff will share a little about what they are thankful for. We are going to start off with staff member Laurie Hoshauer. Laurie is thankful for, “The extra time I have been able to have with my family this year because of restricted outings – getting that movie list dwindled down! Being surrounded by people with great senses of humor! The peace of knowing God is in control in all circumstances!”
I’ve noticed something interesting in our society, something positive, during what appears to be a much larger trend towards divisiveness. There have been times when Americans didn’t agree on how we should treat our veterans, but we pretty much universally do today, I think, ever since 9/11. Here it is: We love and appreciate our veterans. We seem to have moved past whether we agreed with the underlying political aims of any particular conflict or if we supported the administration in charge at the time. We seem to have come to terms with an important, simple truth: We owe a lot to the men and women who have served us in our United States military. We know they’ve sacrificed a lot. We know that the world would not be as good as it is without them. We know that we have freedoms, even the freedom to disagree with each other, largely because of them. At Danley and Associates we have friends, family members, and many, many clients that are veterans. Today, we unite in saluting each and every one of you and your families. Thank you!
Today we celebrate National Texas Day! Today is a day for us to explore and appreciate the riches and diversity of the state that we are lucky enough to call home. We’ve included some of our favorite pictures from around the state, to highlight the diverse, natural beauty of our home. We recommend celebrating with a cold Dr. Pepper and some piping hot barbecue, fresh off the smoker! (Just don’t forget to invite us, of course!) Happy National Texas day!
Since 2000, National CRNA Week has been the annual celebration of the nation’s nearly 57,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists who safely provide more than 49 million anesthetics each year. The services of our CRNA’s are invaluable to both the patient and the service providers who rely on them to provide professional services. Their skill and accuracy allow for patients to undergo surgery safely, relieve pain, and avoid unnecessary pain. This CRNA Week, we want to take a moment to thank all of our CRNA’s for their heroic work and look forward to a future of providing safe and effective anesthesia care to all patients.
We’ve said before that many business owners have a hard time working ON the business rather than IN the business. We firmly believe in regularly working on our business, so we can make our practice better and we can serve our clients in the best way possible. We typically like to meet up somewhere to have this meeting, but we had to settle for business planning on Skype instead! We still had a great time!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
We were very blessed to have been able to venture out of our home offices last week and see each other for the first time in... forever! We had a great day of socially distant Barbeque, Bowling and.. Bobbleheads? Check out these awesome bobbleheads our staff got for our advisors! Which bobblehead do you think is the best likeness?
