Meet Dr. Binoy Ouseph, gastroenterologist. Dr. Ouseph came to Indiana by way of Valhalla, NY where he completed his residency and fellowship at New York Medical College. From there, he served as the attending physician at Westchester Medical Center Emergency Department and attending gastroenterologist at Caylor Nickel Clinic and Ball Memorial Hospital in Indiana.
While he was certainly inspired by his mother, also a physician, it was in his senior year of high school that Dr. Ouseph decided to enter the medical field. “I had a class that was an introduction to anatomy and physiology, which sparked my interest to further my education – my favorite anatomy section was gastroenterology.”
Why did he choose Beacon? “I was on staff at Goshen Hospital many years ago, and I was aware of Beacon’s excellent GI section and its cutting-edge technology,” he reflects. “I deal with all aspects of gastroenterology, from IBS to advanced gastrointestinal procedures, so my goal is to always treat my patients with the latest technology available.”
When it comes to himself and his patients, Dr. Ouseph’s philosophy is simple yet powerful. “Over the years, my patients have inspired me to always be inquisitive – to keep learning.” He adds, “In return, I strive to have satisfied patients. I want them to know they will get a competent, dedicated, honest and approachable physician.”
