We are trying our best to get everyone in, please be patient with us while we work through everything. If you have an urgent care need, please call us asap in the morning as we do reserve some same day appointments but they go quickly. If you are in need of an annual exam and vaccines it is best to plan ahead; we are currently booked out 6 weeks.

There recently was a news story that a Tiger at a NY zoo tested positive for coronavirus. We want to stress that while this development is concerning, there is still no evidence that pets can transfer the virus to humans. This video has some great tips on keeping your pets safe, but in addition make sure your pet is not socializing with other pets or humans outside your home as they can carry the virus on their fur.
Dear Birch Lake Animal Hospital Family
The Minnesota Department of Health has stated that while veterinary practices are essential businesses, we need to stop seeing elective cases. This means that for the foreseeable future we are discontinuing spay/neuter procedures, routine dental cleanings and nail trims. For now we will continue to see wellness/vaccine appointments as we feel these are essential to continuing to protect the immunity of your pets.
We are continuing to provide curbside service for all appointments and medication pick-ups; please be prepared to pay via phone. We are trying to be as efficient as possible with this process but please know that appointments may take longer than usual. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through the changing policies and procedures.
From our family to yours,
Birch Lake Animal Hospital
