My recipe for edible cookie dough! I hope everyone has gone through life with memories of eating cookie dough or brownie batter. I'm not sure I can think of anything else that beats dough from the bowl. Just be cautious of raw flour and eggs! See my recipe below for Safe-To-Eat Cookie Dough with 6 min heat treated flour and no eggs!
1) Preheat oven to 375.
2) Before baking I mise en plase. Which is a fancy french term for "get your ish organized and measured before you start mixing anything!"
3) Sift and measure 1 cup of any flour your heart desires... I use all-purpose but you can use gluten free (my favorite is Bob's Red Mill).
Set this aside until your oven is ready.
3a) Sprinkle flour on parchment paper or clean baking sheet and put in oven- set a timer for 5 min.
4) In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 c or 1 stick of unsalted butter, 1/2 c brown sugar, 3 TBS granulated sugar (if using vegan butter, do not add salt). Mix for 3 min.
---- take out flour and allow to cool down.
****If you don't have a kitchenaid, a handheld electric mixer is fine too. I wouldn't mix this by hand unless you have she-hulk strength. In that case, DM me for a job.
5) add to your butter mixture: 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 c heat treated flour, 1/4-1/2 tsp kosher or any salt. 1/4 c any milk of your choice AND of course, 2/3 c semi sweet chocolate chips or leave chips out.
**** (I know some weirdos who would prefer the latter but no judgement here)
--Mix for a few min.
6) Indulge, you've earned it.
Freeze for 2-3 months or chill covered for 1 week.
Recipe:
1 c heat treated flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c unsalted butter
3TBS granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 c chocolate chips, semi sweet
1/4 c milk
1 large unsharable spoon
