Black Forest Motors was founded as an automotive repair company, specializing in German and Swedish imports, in 1978. It was originally located at 3701 North Shadeland Avenue in Indianapolis. The business was incorporated in 1982 and moved to a nearby location, at North Shadeland, in 1986.
In 1987, Black Forest Motors became an authorized Bosch Service Center, one of only five in the Indianapolis area. The company was named after the mountainous district of southwest Germany, an area renowned for its natural beauty and dense, dark belt of fir forests. This was done to symbolize the visual and mechanical elegance of the high-precision German and Swedish automobiles we service.
The present facility is a full-scale service center, custom-built to accommodate the rapid growth that Black Forest Motors underwent in its first decade of operation. The facility has a parts department, which is equipped to handle complete engine and transmission overhauls. We use the cutting-edge AllData Mitchell on Demand information systems for advanced repair information on high-performance German and Swedish automotive products.
