I’ve been meaning to do this since the beginning of race season, my apologies for the late lengthy post. With recent pics starting to pop up on social media I figured I had better get my words out there, thanks Shawn Brown for the great picture of our new ride! Yes, all three BannBoys are in different rides this year. Treyton is in our latest addition, a full size dragster. Brit moved out of juniors and into the Camaro. Braxton moved out of our first junior and into our 7.90 junior. We could not have done this without the help of so many people. First off, thanks to my amazing wife Marni for allowing us BannBoys to do what we love, race cars! This is all because of Grandpa Bann whom I never met, whom brought car racing to the family. Dad and Uncle Mike have always been there with their lending hand from day one to support this nasty family habit that they passed onto us! Scott Holbrook has been an absolute rock solid true friend through all this and has spent countless hours with us and endless miles on the highway in assisting with our latest venture, I can’t thank him enough for what he does. John Jackson at Bob Jackson Auto Body has been there for me since I was a punk kid in my Camaro wanting to be like one of the “cool” guys sitting at Willett Bros on cruise nights. John has kept the BannBoys looking great with paint job after paint job since our first junior, always willing to have the kids get in his way at his shop along the way- thanks John! Kynda and Lee at Custom Coat have kept the BannBoys shiny with all our powder coating needs since day one also. Blasted and baked, they never blink an eye in supporting us. Dave Crocker always finds time with his hectic schedule to accommodate any of our machining needs and does it for the boys and the love of the sport that he has in his blood also. Forrest Fincher worked his magic with our welding and fabrication needs, what a great family to race with! Jason Thompson freshened up our upholstery with a modern new look in the dragster. Ken Eldred, always taking the time to speak with the boys, one of their first friends at the races from when they started going. Ken is always there with parts that likely wouldn’t be found in town if it weren’t for him, plus he keeps the kids honest in the Sportsman class! Rich Masters, whom painted my Camaro back in 1988, was willing to spruce the Camaro up in a couple spots this off season as well. Rich has been a family friend since my childhood and painted my Dad and Uncles race car back in the day. Always enjoy my conversations with him, thanks Rich! There are countless other people who have helped along the way, my awesome in-laws who learned the sport after being a “ball” sport family forever. Stepmom Becky for being there and letting Dad break away from home to assist in the race shop. Cousin Chris for always being there for anything and everything, he’s not a cousin, he’s a “brother”-love ya! Brother-in-law Ronnie for always having the answers to our issues with the coach, trailer, and often race car issues as well. Chet Powers, his gentle ongoing support of the boys with encouragement and kind words across the PA system along with his fine skills in getting us on track. The entire Holbrook family for always being a part of our ventures and saving us in times of need. From the bottom of all our hearts, thanks to all who have had a part in getting the BannBoys Motorsports team to where we are. Unfortunately we have had a rough start to our “learning” season and have to step away for a bit to regroup after a severe setback last weekend. We’ll be back though! We always have Mom, Scott, and Steve looking over us from above, we’ll be fine. Until then, love to all our racing friends and family, see ya soon! Apologies again for the long post and anyone who I may have missed!
