In continuous operation since the early 1980s, Books End is Syracuse's oldest used bookstore. About half our stock is fiction and about half is nonfiction, so we have any topic you might want -- and with prices ranging from 50 cents to $5000 we have something for every pocketbook.
Collectively, we have over 30 years of bookselling experience. We love to recommend books and are always happy to help you find whatever it is you need in the realm of books. If you don't see what you're looking for, just ask.
We are always looking for quality used books, and we buy in any quantity from single volumes to entire libraries. If you have questions about whether we would be interested in your books, please feel free to email, or call us.
Condition, condition, condition - The better the condition of your books, the more likely we are to buy them. If they're water-damaged or moldy, or heavily highlighted or underlined, chances are we will not be interested.
Buy-backs - We do not guarantee buy-back of books you bought from us, though we often will take them.
Sets - We do not often buy sets of books. If you have a large set, for example The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, we suggest bringing in one or two sample volumes rather than the entire set. We do NOT buy encyclopedias.
Textbooks - We do not normally buy textbooks, except very recent ones.
Romances - At the moment we are not buying the following: Regency romances, series romances such as Harlequin, Silhouette.
Comic Books - We are especially interested in the Golden Age comics (pre-1950), and don't normally buy anything more recent.
Magazines - We do buy some older magazines (pre-1960). We do not buy adult magazines such as Playboy, Penthouse, etc.
Reader's Digest Condensed Books - We do NOT buy these.
