Please remember to wear your mask at all times unless seated. See you soon!
ATTENTION!! There is a CenturyLink outage affecting most of the east valley so our phones are down until they fix it. And of course we have been getting a lot of calls because the Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, so if you are trying to get a hold of us and this post doesn't answer any of your questions please message us here! 1. Are you open for dine in? YES! 2. Is the OTB open? YES! 3. What time can I place a bet for the Derby? After 4pm Friday 4. What time do you open Saturday? Both the restaurant and the OTB open at 8:30am 5. Do you have karaoke? NOT at this time 6. Do you have poker? NOT at this time PLEASE NOTE: in order for us to keep operating we can only have 50% occupancy. Which means once we hit 105 people in the building, you will NOT be able to come in even just to place a bet and leave, until someone leaves. You're best chance is to bet early either Friday evening or 1st thing Saturday morning. Please remember you MUST be masked at ALL times unless sitting down. This means no drinking and/or eating in line to place a bet. We know rules stink but we want to be able to stay open so PLEASE help us follow all the rules so we can!! LOVE YOU ALL!

For many of our customers that wonder why we are still unable to open up, this is a great summary of what's been going on from another bar owner. #HAVEOUR6 #notourlastcall #powerinnumbers Mike Cuneo August 22 at 8:33 PM · Az, Series 6 and Series 12 Liquor License. Which one do you buy, which one makes sense? Series 6 Liquor Licenses, before the Pandemic, were valued on the open market at about $100,000. You own that License and it is a valuable asset. Series 6 Licenses come with some benefits. 1st, you do not have to meet the requirement that 40% of Sales must be from food. 2nd you can sell Beer and Alcohol to go. The Series 6 is an asset and you can sell and transfer it. Series 12 Licenses are purchased from the DLLC, for $2,000. Obviously from the cost stand point, everyone would buy the Series 12, except it comes with a requirement that you generate 40% of your Revenue from Food Sales. This is not easy to accomplish, but often times Owners will take the less expensive route and open as a restaurant. Picture a fine dining Restaurant. $35 a meal, throw in a couple of $20 appetizers and a dinner for 4 is $220. A before dinner round of average quality Spirits is $60. Add in a couple of bottles of wine during dinner, an after dinner round of drinks, you can easily spend $320. So where do we stand for License purposes. Your food cost is 40.74%, barely meeting the threshold. Now remember, I did say fine dining. You go into a Restaurant/Bar and the same 4 people buy Hamburgers. At $12.50 a piece they spent $50. So, with the $50 of food , they have Imports or Craft Beers. One before, a couple during and one after dinner. So, $28 a round and 4 rounds, a total of $112. They now have spent $162 of which 30.86% is food. This does not meet the requirement of 40% Food Sales It is extremely difficult for a Restaurant/Bar, if not impossible, to generate 40% of their Total Sales from the sale of Food. Does not have to be 40% of each transaction but of Total Sales. It gets even more difficult when lots of people just come in for drinks. Restaurant/Bars and Bar/Restaurants are usually the same. They have the same Customers, same Food and Drinks, their prices are approximately the same, they have the same mix of product sales, etc.. Restaurant/Bars even have the same entertainment. Things like live Bands, Karaoke, a DJ, Pool Tables, Dart Boards,Table Top Games. Restaurant/Bars claim to be Restaurants and open up with a Series 12 to avoid the costs of correctly doing Business. In cases of a Pandemic. their often times false claims of being a Restaurant, allow them to receive an extra benefit, Our Governor who is not very knowledgeable about Liquor Licenses made a decision that Series 6 Licensed Establishments should be closed, even if they serve food. Their next door neighbor, who may or may not be falsely operating under a Series 12 Liquor License, are allowed to be open, because that same deciding person said Restaurants are okay. Today, the State of Arizona is issuing exemptions to their current Rules regarding The Restaurants and Bar Industry, allowing some Bars to open based on statements they make. These Statements often times do not reflect reality. DLLC and AZDHS are understaffed and through no fault of their own, are not able to Police this situation. At the same time you have Bar/Restaurants, that have done everything asked and more, to try and reopen, and they are being told no. How about this for a common sense solution. The Governor, on a temporary basis, hire some of the very knowledgeable Bar and Restaurant people who have lost their jobs to the Pandemic and assign them to DLLC or AZDHS to enforce the mandated guidelines that were put in place to keep everyone safe. Maybe we could get the Bad Actors closed and the places doing everything right, open. A note to the Governor: Policies that are made, which are fair, and justified do not need exemptions. If they do need exemptions then the Policy is not fair or justified and needs to be corrected.
