About

Let us help you achieve optimal functioning and independence in activities of daily living, work, and play so you can live your life to the fullest!
We serve children with various disabilities that limit their learning, play and daily function. BPHT offers a team of experienced pediatric Occupational and Physical Therapists along with Speech Language Pathologists. Our focus is helping to achieve independence by facilitating social, motor functional skill development. We care and work to help translate new skills into their respective environment with caregivers.

In addition to treating children, BPHT offers Occupational and Certified Hand Therapists who are extremely proficient in the treatment of acute and chronic upper extremity conditions in people of all ages. Certified hand therapists are known in the medical community as the best source of treatment for upper extremity concerns. CHTs are familiar with advanced surgical techniques and post-operative programs making them the preferred providers for post-surgical therapy. They are highly skilled in evaluating self- care/activities of daily living, work tasks and hobby activities utilizing their knowledge of the intricate functional anatomy of the upper extremity.

Bothell Pediatric & Hand Therapy is an independent, locally owned clinic that contributes directly back to the community

It is our pleasure to announce the newest addition to our Speech Therapy team, Cecelia, aka "Cece." She's originally from Virginia where she received a double Bachelors in Communication Science Disorders and Spanish. She then moved to Miami where she earned a Masters in bilingual Speech-Language Pathology. Cece's mom is also Speech Therapist, so she had a natural inclination toward the field and found it was a good way to combine her love of languages with helping others. She’s worked in private clinics and various hospital settings where she also became certified as a Feeding Specialist. Cece will be offering speech therapy in English and Spanish. She's passionate about working with different cultures and brings an upbeat, fun approach to therapy at BPHT while encouraging family education and involvement. Help us give a warm welcome to Cece!

Today we welcome Meghan Patton, the newest addition to our physical therapy team! :) Meghan grew up in Maryland and recently moved to the Pacific NW. Since she was young, she knew she wanted to work in healthcare and loved that PTs actually spend time with patients, teaching them how to build foundational skills and confidence, so that set her on the path to becoming a Doctor of PT. Meghan has worked at pediatric clinics and as a swim coach, with specialty training in aquatic therapy, serial casting, and gait analysis in children. In her own words, Meghan says treating pediatric patients feels like playing a game with her favorite kids. We're growing our team! Please join us in welcoming OT Michelle Freylekhman to BPHT. Michelle was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She earned a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology from Western Washington University, and a Masters of Occupational Therapy from Chicago State University. She is a first-generation American and is fluent in Russian and English. As a child, Michelle received occupational therapy to help her with academic success. The OT helped her overcome her challenges, and she fondly remembers the bond they established. After seeing the progress and improvement a child can make with one-on-one guidance, she knew that OT was definitely the right field for her. During her undergrad studies, she explored the idea of becoming an OT by volunteering at a hippotherapy clinic, and really enjoyed it. After graduating, Michelle served as a paraeducator for 2 years at an elementary school in Bellevue. Additionally, she served in outpatient pediatrics after grad school and is passionate about working with children to help them become more independent. Welcome Michelle! :)

We love getting feedback from parents: "All of the staff at BPHT were fantastic! Everyone at the front desk was always friendly and welcoming. They got to know our names and were always excited to see Declan. We came to Maria when our son was 18 months old for an evaluation and began working with her once or sometimes twice a week for the next two years. Maria was absolutely the best! She was always happy to see Declan and appeared to truly care about him. She made an effort to connect with him that helped facilitate their work together. She made sessions fun with engaging toys and games that looked liked play, but allowed Declan to engage in conversation. Maria was always so patient and understanding with our sometimes very difficult or stubborn toddler, especially when he was having a difficult day or the work was hard. Maria also helped coach our family on how to encourage and work with Declan at home each week." - Maxine M, parent

Many parents of children with special health care needs — regardless of race — report struggling to receive prompt diagnoses and access to adequate therapy and support services. But for families of color, particularly those who are Black and Latinx, the struggle is more acute. “I think that over the last four years or so, we’ve seen some really good work, and it probably is time to take a step back and say, ‘What’s working and what isn’t? And how do we expand on what works?'” Westling said. DISABILITYSCOOP.COM How Families Are Fighting Racism And Disability Discrimination

"BPHT is an amazing place. Starting with the front desk, everyone is super friendly and helpful, to even going out of their way to make sure my son got his therapy. The therapists are amazing, they are welcoming and so patient, and their kindness shows is every way. The year 2020 has been an odd year for everyone, and having my toe broken, my son had to miss multiple appointments, but that didn’t stop BPHT from offering my son’s therapy in different times/dates. I saw a couple of negative reviews the billing office and I was concerned at first, but something made me still want to give it a try, I’m so happy we did, we never had any issue with their billing office and we are just overall so grateful for everyone that is part of the BPHT family." - Isabela Matey, parent

“The ability to use teletherapy for my son’s therapy helped keep continuity to our weekly schedule during a time of so much change to our regular routine. My son loves his time with Maria and he stayed engaged and a willing participant during his session (which can be a lot to ask of a 4 year old). We were able to use items we had at home as well as digital tools on the therapist’s end to to make the entire session a success.” – Elizabeth, parent

"Our son has been with BPHT for OT and Speech for 1.5 years now. In that time we have seen tremendous progress for him. For a child that was very rigid/ inflexible he has really grown. It's transferring to his school environment where he qualifies for Speech services but not OT. The therapy we have received thus far at BPHT has been life-changing not only for him but for our family." - Jen T, parent
