We are excited to begin the process of reopening Boyson Dental to our wonderful patients for elective, routine, and non-emergent dental care. While many things have changed in our world over the past few months, our commitment to the safety and well-being of our patients and staff remains the same.
We began this week with extensive staff training on new procedures and protections in the practice. We're working hard on stocking the required personal protection equipment (PPE) to keep you safe and comfortable. Infection control has always been a top priority for our office, but COVID-19 has necessitated some changes in not only our day-to-day activities, but also to the patient experience. We would like to prepare you for some of the changes you'll be seeing when it is time for your next appointment.
•Our office will communicate with you beforehand and we’ll be asking you screening questions and ask you to check your temperature. You will be asked those same questions again when you arrive in the office along with checking your temperature.
•When you arrive for your appointment please call the office at (319) 393-4019 to let us know that you have arrived and stay in your car. A staff member will either call or come to your car when we are ready for you. This will cut down on large crowds at the front desk and waiting room.
•When entering the office, it is required by the Iowa Department of Public Health that you wear a mask. We ask that only patients with an appointment or guardians accompanying a minor enter the building.
•We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
•Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
•You will be greeted by the same smiling faces that you are used to, but we’ll be covered by more layers of Personal Protection Equipment. Our office will be kept at a cooler temperature than normal, so please plan accordingly.

Our hours and staffing will continue to increase over the coming days, so if no one is available to take your call, please leave a voicemail and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Please be patient with us as we try to reschedule over 2 months of cancelled appointments. Our staff is working very hard to accommodate everyone. With longer appointment times and scheduling to allow for social distancing in the office, this will take some time!

Governor Reynolds has extended her mandate for dental offices to postpone elective and non emergent procedures through May 15th. We are still here for our patients if you should need us for a dental emergency. Examples include: pain, swelling, trauma. If you have an appointment scheduled between now and May 15th, it is cancelled. We will reach out to you to reschedule, but please be patient with us. We are working with a limited staff and hours. We miss you all and look forward to serving you once the mandate is lifted.
