It's that time of year...apple season! We often see patients with either broken braces or wires that come loose after eating something hard like an apple. You don't need to take them out of your diet but you will need to modify how you eat them. We recommend small thin slices (rule of thumb: if you can't bend it, it's not small enough). Never bite into them with your front teeth and that goes for other foods as well (corn on the cob, ribs or chicken wings, raw carrots).
